Well I enter the Nintendo web, to look if the wiiu price was cheaper but not, is 300 dolars like 3 years ago .
I was viewing the page and found a very interesting section:

"Open source software
The Wii U console includes open source software. For more information, click here."

Link:
My Query are Three B-):
1- Nintendo gives you a program to create your own software on wiiu, with this of the Open Source?.
2- Nintendo let you download firmwares of the wiiu console? Ejemplo: " Wii U [Ver. 4.1.0] 容量:179MB (解凍後 417MB)".
3- And last but the most important, someone can make a post with a guide how to use and create our own programs with the archives that nintendo gives in the open source section. Thanks.

Maybe Hykem answer my question :yayu:
(It will be good too do little programs or games for the wiiu and free)
It's not like you'd get an IOSU exploit out of it lelz. :P
Also Hykem left. I don't believe he will come back anytime soon... but let's not drift off to that conversation again!! ;)

Also, why wouldn't the homebrew we have currently satisfy you?

You can't do much with the sourcecode.
They used some libraries in their sourcecode which they adapted for the Wii U.
Those libraries have licenses and some licenses require you to publish the sourcecode of the modificated library.
So Nintendo did that (A lot of companies don't do that... or only do it on request).
This is just an example. You can google the mentioned licenses and find out yourself.

So you can't make any homebrew out of this code. It's often just a tiny tiny bit of the complete program or just a library.

when you use open source code for your apps, depending on the license you must provide a way to the public to obtain that modified software.

that's why they have such downloads on their site.

on smartphones sites you can find also some source code for android, years ago there was also a problem with google being "late" on releasing android source code, open source licenses are strict :) even if you are a big company .

regarding other questions for example Nintendo Web Framework [Ver. 1.9.5] ... as you see the source code is all c++ code ... how good are you with that?

if you are a unity guy better to apply on nintendo developer site and aks a devkit, if accepted you will receive a unity pro license for free with the devkit.
but for game programming soon or after even using middlewares you will need to get to the metal and that means C++.
if you are not good at c++ maybe you can start programming on middlewares for android, there are more "human friendly" languages for coding games , but for console you may think it as the F1 is for cars ... you need much more skill and knowledge... you cannot drive a Ferrari the same like a fiat 500 ... ;)

Is good to know, maybe some Program Senior in c++ look at this info, and start working on some freeware. :creep:
(I'dont know nothing, but have a lot of free time)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If you want to use Unity you will have to sign up to https://wiiu-developers.nintendo.com/ where you can fill in an application form and be approved for Unity Wii U. :)
