You need to delete the old one before installing the patched new one.
Yeah, FBI actually automatically deleted it and installed it.

none of my flashcards seems to work.

I installed twlfirm_n3ds in both emu and sys nands and TWL Slot-1 Launcher too.
All I get is a Black Screen.

Another to add to the list of those that don't work for those who might be interested.

DSiPlayer Flash Card greets you with a white screen when trying to boot with TWL Launcher just like Action Replay DSi.

For those who might not know, DSiPlayer was a flash card for playing multimedia made by the supercard team which had support dropped and quickly forgotten about as soon as the SC2 was released. It was a decent alternative to still play GBA games on my DSi before the SC2 came out. :D

Doesn't serve much purpose now, but thought I would test it just for the sake of it. XD

Strange won't even give me an error for my old flashcart when booting, just a black screen.

SysNAND rxTools installs TWL just fine for me, but trying to install it on SD from rx sysnand gives me an error of "Invalid arguement".

While in Emunand, trying to install TWL gives "Invalid arguement".

I can load up DSI games just fine from sysnand and emunand from the home menu.

some cards don't even need the twl launcher. just paste the elf file on your rxtools folder then you can launch your cart normally from the home menu.

I was so excited to finall try this when I read OP's post a little bit more in detail. Having the original R4 is suffering.

1. I have a bricked R4i 3DS, it doesn't seem to read the cartridge at all (nothing appears) and if I insert it in my DS Lite, the DS Lite freezes after hearing the DS startup sound.
Will the patch make it work 'magically'? Or is it just ripperino?

2. I have another flashcart that activates on DS Lite right on boot. Those will not work?
3. This breaks MSET?

4. Wens DS game CIA OMGScoots
1. No, it's not Phoenix Down.
2. No.
3. Only if you run it in sysNAND, or if you have MSET setup in emuNAND (but why would you?)
4.
Does this will work with rxtools 2.6? Since i have a o3ds tuxSH said that i only need to replace an .elf file...
No, you need to use the latest build.

Can we install the TWL_FIRM.cia for N3DS by Aurora Wright on a GW Emunand, to get the Blue flashcard to work on Emunand without breaking a MSET entrypoint on the sysnand? (unlinked Emunand and Sysnand).
God It was hard to say. :shy:
No. DS(I) games don't work in Gateway Mode. Period. Nothing you can do change that, bitch about it to Gateway.

I didn't test the Slot-1 launcher since I don't have a flashcard yet though so take that with a grain of salt :)

...
Fucking hell.

doesnt work on emunand right?
It's designed to work on emuNAND.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    lmao

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
