I have already asked on the other thread if they would like to contribute parts from the old translation.

I'm currently stuck with extracting the old LP files..it says they are in 'tmx_event.arc' and to Unpack the arc file to get scripts in .sbin format but I get 599 files in .Dat format instead(?).
Would look on it tomorrow too (if you cant do it, maybe i find how to made that)
It would be great thing if they agree to share their translation for 3ds game)

the LP scripts seems to be the same dialogues with NLP/NLP+ but in a very different cataloging and coding format.

I just zipped the LP tmx_event.rar file and share it here so people will find their way with it to extract the old scripts so we can compare them with the scripts from NLP/NLP+.

[EDIT] : deleted the test patch cause thanks to member MGDanon we figured everything out!^____^

ok, I just created this [TRY] PATCH_01.rar to see if replacing the Japanese with English text may cause any problems with the game running. this is a very "simplistic" English translation patch (it's not meant to make much sense) where only a tiny fraction of file 'a000.xml' from the pre-confession part when you first meet Anegasaki Nene by visiting Dixies for the first time is translated. please read the README file before doing anything and report back your findings. If you load NLP+ then notice which symbol appears (either "01.", "02.", or "SC.") so we'll know which of the 3 folder has the dominant script files.

Sorry it took so long, classes and all. Tried using the NLP+ translation through hans, decompling and recompling all that jazz. Launched it and it seems to still all be in japanese with no changes, not sure if you got it working or not, but I don't seem to be able to. I used nlp 1 nlp 2 and script. I only launched the game and started clicking through the beginning though, not sure what part is supposed to be translated, but I can say the first lines are not.

When to Dixie first chance I got and the conversation with her wasn't translated either, went back the next day when you can actually plan and still nothing.

thank you for reporting back! yeah, the first lines are not translated, it was hard to find them inside all those files, I'll have a harder look today..

For now i cant test it... Sd card is dead... Lost all data... (Thanks i have made backup on pc^^, well not all data lost) And, would buy new soon.
Glad to see that insertion eng text in game work!

have to give a big thank you to MGDanon for helping us take another few big steps today!^_______^
after a few tries and errors we were able to not only figure out how to test and format the text to run properly for the game but also a method to create working HANS patches for the NEWラブプラス+ / NEWLOVEPLUS+ game.

we also figured out that the 'script' folder holds the dominant script files, so we will now focus on translating just the 'script' folder. however we will work on the rest of the folders later as there are a few parts in there that need our attention.

again, 'Thank You~!' to everyone who help with bringing this project a step closer to reality!

this project will fall through, no doubt about it. zettai zetsumei toshi 3 all over again tbh

That's some pretty harsh negativity especially since a good 70% of the game was already translated, albeit a previous version of the game.

Edit: Extracted the non-script text, but the tmx_event.arc file is giving me trouble. Arcdump.exe seems to work on it, but it doesn't extract the .sbin files. Someone else will have to figure out how to get that working.

Yeah, as I said the tmx_event.arc file (the one which holds almost all of the dialogue) wouldn't unpack for me. TLWiki has all the files as pages, and includes the Japanese text in them, although the English parts are unfinished I believe, but I wasn't able to rip it straight from the game.

Since you got permission to use the script files, do you think asking the old translators for help with that might work?

the reply I got when I asked : "You just have to extract the scripts from the patch and match them up with the new game's scripts by yourself. (Most scripts on TLWiki and Google Docs are outdated.)"
I asked again if they can recommend some tools and instructions from the methods they used to unpack, extract or repack them (might help figuring out how to extract after it's been patched) when they were working on the project..

so I guess our main goal right now is to try and successfully extract the tmx_event.arc file of the LOVEPLUS [2009] DS ROM.
