Yes you do lol, the gamepad only works on games that supported the CC wich smg2 doesnt, so basicaly your choices is having a wiimote+nunchuck or you cant play the Wii VC game at all.

And no we cant launch wii VC games but like i said only if that wii game supported CC would the gamepad work wich from what i remenbered there is 1 game as off now most wii games didnt support the CC at all.
