Well I don't know about a good guide, but if you want a game pre-installed on the system, you could buy a MK7 bundle. I've heard that MK7 is pre-installed on that one. Not 100% sure though.
They don't sell that bundle anymore :(
They only sell the bundle with the download-able SMB2 so i'm pretty much stuck with it..I think that i'm going to buy from Toys "R" Us.
To be honest, i don't care if it's pre-installed or not, i just want it to be below 9.2:lol:

Also, I don't know if anyone's said this earlier in the thread, but when you set up emuNAND, unlink emuNAND and sysNAND.
This is the last question!
I've just purchased R4i Gold from here: http://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=149
I chosed paid shipping just to get it faster.

But when i get the R4i Gold and let just hope that the console is below 9.2. What's my next step?
Should i follow this tutorial?: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/
Or is there another one that i should follow?

I'd say go for a 2DS instead of a DS lite (or any DS that isn't a 3DS) at this point. With a 2DS that has CFW, you can use AGB_FIRM, which lets you play GBA games at full speed (with the trade-off of not really being able to extract or re-inject the saves, but big deal), play every original DS game with a cheap flashcart, and also play 3DS games. It's like three systems for the price of one if you do some basic setup.

Thank you for the explanation!!
Hmm well the store I am going to buy It from is a store that sells toys (Yea I know).. It's like Toys "R" Us, but this is store is famous in the Nordic... So i don't think that they sell an used 2DS :P
And the console comes with a bundle as you mentioned. I will get a code to download New super Mario bros 2, and all the other stuff.. However they doesn't write which version it comes with out of the box...

But is there a way to downgrade to that specific version if my 2DS is above 9.2?
The only reason I want to buy this is to play 3DS games, well technically it's for my brother, but I will also use it :P
Well Sky3ds sounds good, but it's too expensive.. :(
what store? i happen to live in norway, right next to sweden

Yeah I guess that one's good if you want RxTools CFW. I can throw another one at you if you want to set up emuNAND, but I'm guessing you're fine with RxTools CFW.

that model r4i gold is only a ds mode flascard and it will work no matter your fw version
but still hope for 9.2 or lower so you can use the guide you have linked there to install cfw . . . obviously for 3ds cia (roms)

Oh lol yeah, AGB_FIRM, completely forgot about that.
See, the 2DS really has access to (nearly) all of the library the DS has :P

Toys "R" Us and also in BR Leksaker (if you are familiar with that) :)

I have no idea what RxTools CFW is, (well not yet), so i have no idea what i want.. I just want to install a good stable custom firmware:D
But if you could throw another one that would be great!

I'd suggest EmuNAND because IIRC it's kinda 'emulating' the 3DS' normal firmware, but you get extra permissions.
EDIT: Maybe use this tutorial?

Well there you have it, i also saw that BR Leker sells the same console as the one in sweden xD

Thank you! I assume that will also work with the 2DS? xD
And is this "better" than the one i found? :shy:

i think rxtools is the way to go but if you want options then add this to the list Pasta CFW - A CFW that allows unsigned CIA to be installed on Old and New 3DS! (required ninjhax)
I wouldn't recommend Pasta, seems it only uses sysnand for everything.
Better to go with rxTools or even Cakes, with emunand.

So many choices!
But with this one https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-4-5-sysnand-4-5-cfw-9-4-emunand-without-gateway.378721/
It says that is has to be, and i quote, "A 3DS with version 4.5 or lower" So i will have to downgrade to 4.5 and then later update it 10.3?

EDIT: Also, with that method, do i get the opportunity to backup my system NAND?

That's an outdated tutorial :P CFW can be installed from pretty much anywhere between 4.x and 9.2
That's from like January last year and that tutorial's telling you to use Palantine CFW which is really obsolete now.
