I'm curious. f0f released a video back in 2013 claiming to have hacked the Wii U within 30 days. Most of it goes right over my head, but my understanding is that the system firmware was much more vulnerable back then. Whereas recently Hykem has said that he has a working IOSU exploit for all firmwares up to 5.5.

So which is more impressive? Who is more skilled?

Depends who has the most neon lights and flashy decals on their computer.
Hykem was catching up with.his glow in the dark decal, but I heard fof stole the show and got a kitt running led strip....but the truth.is you have a team.of dedicated hackers who do so for the "First!!!!" award and have lots of professional hardware etc vs a single person doing it in their spare time to actually produce a sharable result rather than get it working.enough to dump keys share the hash and give a speech on it

Hykem isn't a team though. Fail0verflow is. I wouldn't compare the work of one individual who does this in their limited spare time to a team that does this collectively as a hobby. Not to mention they do this all together, as in, in the same room. There isn't the issue of timezones and whatnot delaying them.

You're basically comparing apples and oranges here.

basically, failoverglow was for "look we hacked it, but there will be no interest, we will not release it to public."

the libwiiu team, on the other hand, has interest, and were willing to release their finds to public, 2 years later :)

Firmware 5.5.0 came out less than 3 months ago. Give him some time before you call him a liar.
whoa whoa whoa little boy, you are jumping to quite some conclusions here!
I said I personally dont believe him, I didnt say he is a liar.
And the talk about iosu was way before 5.5.0

I knew you'd comment about how you technically didn't call him a liar. I also don't appreciate being called a little boy.

You said you're not believing a single thing that he said, which implies YOU believe he's lying about what he said... Or at the least that he's under-performing, which he isn't. But whatever, that's all semantics and it doesn't matter to the actual topic. The point is that his plan is to release the iosu exploit for every firmware to date. For all we know he had to start over once 5.5.0 hit so much of the time spent before that is null. 5.3.2 is already in a golden state and most people will only really be concerned about improving Loadiine's compatibility. 5.4 and 5.5 are the ones in need of the exploit.

Anyway in regards to the OP of the thread...
f0f=Team that said they did stuff and then never released anything.
Hykem=Dude who does stuff in his spare time and has helped the scene immensely.

An exploit that is not released (in some form), is no exploit. So it's just a matter of patience. I'm still on 3.1.0 (US) so you can see how patient I am... just in case someone has the guts to release a full package (User + Kernel + IOSU) that takes 100% ownership of the hardware, plus necessary tools (NAND.bin dump, Keys.bin, SDCard/USB drive FAT32 access, etc).

And red/purple LEDs. Remember:
red = POWER, FASTER CLOCKS
blue = cools your computer better
green = TOXIC, WARNING!!!
purple = guess this is kinda a hackers color too, just dont overdo it
