Shouldn't it be bigger news and a crazy amount of threads that he finally released the thing?

Well, I find this homebrew amazing, but I think I know why people wern't so hype about this.... MOST PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM ALREADY HAVE A 9.2 OR LOWER CONSOLE!!!!

Am I the only one who had no troubles with this? TubeHax loaded fine the first try, and ironfall didn't give me any trouble. None of the old apps have had any problems either, and I'm still using NH2.1. N3DS 9.9. This was breezy.

Hm, that Citra GBA emulator won't run on my OG 3DS. Followed the instructions from the Citra thread too.

Just want to clarify on one of my previous posts, while everything is working on my japanese N3DS 9.9 (gameyob, blargnes, citra, CHMM), they won't work on my old regular flame red 3DS. It seems like out of the ones I tested only region free and the minecraft clone work on my flame red 3DS. On my black/blue 9.9 old XL blargsnes was working though, didn't test any of the other apps.

I have ironhax running on my old 3DS units, my japanese N3DS is tubehax.

this is a known issue only N3DS can run those app right now.

Yeah, I did it, 100% smooth.
No issues, just like you
Put the files on the SD card, set my DNS, opened youtube, installed ironhax, booted and everything worked.
I also have n3ds 9.9.....

WELP, I solved my ironhax issue.
Turns out, installing it normally would crash (white box and reboot), then I thought 'why not' and installed the payload for 1.1 (My game is 1.0).
Now, loading the save file sends me to homebrew channel and play some Battletoads

So let's talk hypothetically...If somebody had downloaded ironfall to their <9.3 n3DS using the eShop spoofer, would they now no longer need cubic ninja to load any homebrew? Or is cubic still needed for things like cfw?

Sadly I didn't have my cubic ninja in time, so I guess this doesn't have any impact on me, but I'm still curious if I missed out or not.

Ah, right, so I guess this is truly useless for <9.3 users. I guess that makes me feel better knowing I didn't miss out on anything.

I was wondering because it would have been a cartless, offline solution. Of course I should have just taken the time to realize it requires 9.5+

I guess if you'd downloaded youtube on a <9.3 unmodded n3DS when it was still possible you'd have a free cfw solution on n3DS though, right?

tubehax needs internet everytime, ironhax doesn't. that's why he made them. install tubehax once, use ironhax installer in HBL, then you can just use ironhax without internet. A way of bypassing the need to spend big monies on cubic ninja

I did try the downgrade-your-boot-program method -- http://www31.zippyshare.com/v/Mf15R6Sn/file.html -- on my old 3DS on the newest firmware, and found that it did indeed work fine with ironfall, so loading GameYob works again, no cartridges required. Lovely.

If you're getting a red touch screen and a black top screen when launching some homebrew, replace your boot.3dsx with this one.

Sounds like that's the issue you were having, I was also having it on my 9.9 O3DS and that fixed it for me.

I installed TubeHax and IronHax with the starter pack, then replaced the boot.3dsx in the root after all the installs were done.

I believe this requires kernel access, so with the tools we have available the answer is no.
