I did try it. But it seems that it didn't install powerpc-eabi-gcc.
That's not the solution, THIS is the solution.
Install devkitPro (make sure git is installed first): http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Setting_up_Development_Environment
Then install devkitPPC by running this script as root: http://sourceforge.net/projects/devkitpro/files/Automated Installer/devkitPPCupdate.pl/download
Open your .bashrc (press ALT+F2 then enter gedit .bashrc) and make sure it ends like this:
export DEVKITPRO=/opt/devkitpro
export DEVKITARM=/opt/devkitpro/devkitARM
export DEVKITPPC=/opt/devkitpro/devkitPPC
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/devkitpro/devkitPPC/bin
If not, add those lines and save.
Log out, edit all "Makefile"s, comment every cygpath (by adding "#" at the start of each line) and then it should work.

I might make a more detailed tutorial in the future.

Please write some decent usage instructions in the readme for version 532 since it's a mess right now.

I added to our Readme that powerpc-eabi-xxx binaries need to be in PATH. The cygpath thing was introduced to fix building on Cygwin, but it seems to break other systems, so we'll look at that.

what we need is a way to download and install game updates since you can play online on 5.3.2
its if the game needs to be updated that stops you

just tested and i can still play mario kart online as theres no updates for the game
i dont have splatoon but i know the people that didnt update the game before the system update went live now cant play online

so a way to install the game updates without updating the system would work or installing just the shop update should work
