I prefer to not downgrade before having my GW, I want EmuNAND Classic Mode for testing some demos but here there's an issue with 5.x

You'll probs need to wait at least a month for that, you can't update your emunand in gateway -> no eshop -> no demos

I don't know of any homebrew that requires higher than 4.x, so with this you get to keep homebrew and eshop. You don't get roms though.

True. But I have ninjhax already. What I'm really interrested in is having apps in my homemenu. Some work better as cia. Also I would like to make my own banners and not have to dig out cubic ninja and go through the game menu every time I want to play an emulator or something. Plus no custom themes on 4.x and I'm really into making those right now.

rxmode doesn't boot directly in emunand in rxtools.
EDIT: rxmode boots when you click on boot rxmode​

It will boot in emuNAND in automatic, if it is present in your sdcard.

Never had to downgrade because I was already on 4.5, so I didn't know. I prefer to know what I'm talking about when I offer advice though, so thanks for the info.

If you look above that, he's specifically talking about the rxMode option. Also I don't know if English is Roxas' first language as that sentence is kind of awkwardly phrased/worded and I think he is from Italy.

I can assure you rxmode doesn't boot automatically though, you have to select rxMode in the rxTools menu to boot it (at which point you could say it boots automatically...after the button press).

Sorry about your luck, but I really think downgrading to 4.x with gw launcher will be your only option at the moment. I don't think you have anything to lose by downgrading from 5.x to 4.x, but perhaps I'm wrong.

I can't downgrade because the game I play needs 5.1 and my little brother plays it too and I think that it would be difficult to go to Web Navigator etc for him

It was actually very thoughtful on GW's part. Several people had trouble with the downgrade until they updated a bit higher with a cart. When the initial downgrade failed it went back and flashed the backup (for *most* of them, I think), preventing a brick.

Upgrade first with a cart to 8.1 or 9.0 or whatever. Then format emunand, backup sysnand and downgrade. You'll be able to play your game on emunand just fine. Backup your SD before formatting emunand though. You can even backup your current sysnand and keep the backup on your PC as well.

You can never have too many backups. I have backups of junk I wrote on the Commodore 64 and Commodore 128 from when I was a youngster

if you can access the rxTools menu, but can't boot into emunand, then you got the wrong version.
is your emunand version lower then 7? then just delete the key.bin from your SD card, you don't need it for now.

Ok, this is what you do,
use gateway launcher to create emunand.
take out the SD card and format sysnand. (your saves will be available on your emunand).
Put all the files of your SD card on your pc.
Downgrade using gateway.
put the rxTools.dat on your SD card and all the files that you copy'd to your pc before.
boot into rxTools.dat through the browser exploit, and play your games in emunand which you can now also update to 9.6
BAMMMM you got it!
