...As a DLC character. Buy both versions of the game, play as him on both.

I wonder if it'll be possible to edit our 3DS saves in order to play as him when he comes out. They gotta release all of his content to everyone in order for people to see him online, right? :P

It'll be free to the people who have both versions and it'll come later as paid DLC for people who only have one version of the game.

So everybody gets Mewtwo. The Smash Bros. loyalists get it first for free though. ;)

Well, if I end up liking the Wii U version, it's not on-disc DLC, and it's not too expensive, then I'll definitely look forward to playing him.

Oh, you mean derpLC? Better not be. I don't want to pay money to unlock more data on my cart if I paid for it already.

That's what I mean. I know common sense would say to have DLC as *D*LC, if only for not pissing off your customers, but this is Nintendo we're talking about...
Downloading EXTRA content for your game and having it work properly with other online users? Not sure if they've pulled it off before (for instance, even "secret" pokemon in X/Y are obviously already on the cart), but one can just expect them to fail catastrophically...

MewTwo was one of my favourites in Project M, now they want me to pay extra to get it? sucks big time, expecially considering how much we are already paying for those controllers and the adapter on the WiiU -___-

WiiU players are already paying alot more then 3DS players, they should give MewTwo as freebie to us WiiU players, that would only be fair

My god the other companies have gone down this path loads of times before and you never bitch about them. I have faith in Nintendo to put is a small fee paid thing if you don't have both versions. They did the Mario Kart 8 DLC right by making it cheap and huge too.

I wouldn't buy both versions to access DLC for a character, a single character, even if it's MewTwo.

With that said though Nintendo's recent announcements(new game modes for ex) give off a brawl-vibe. I'm cautious about buying this game.

Wait why would you be cautious about buying a game because it has a "brawl vibe"? Do you even know how crazy that sounds, now try saying it back to yourself.

Seriously though there was nothing wrong with Brawl. I know that some people hated it because it was a little different than Melee. Melee fanboys I won't ever understand.

brawls controls were terrible compared to melee. in melee, everything moved perfectly, in brawl, everyone was sliding around, jumps were weird too at some points. which was made even more obvious by the fact that the adventure mode was a jump n run game for most of the time.

OK for one thing, the game has used the same controls for all 3 (dunno about the 3DS one since I've never played) games and I haven't seen that change at all so that's bull crap.

"sliding around" and "jumping weird". Your going to have to give me a better argument than that for why Melee was better than Brawl. The adventure mode in Brawl was OK but I liked the brawl mode better.

It sounds like they changed a few things in Brawl and you can't take it. Typical Melee fanboys, I have absolutely no time for them.

its general consensus in the competitive smash scene, that Brawl had its shortcomings compared to Melee, many players felt disappointed, hence there are so many user created mods of Brawl
for example "Project M", you should give it a try, I prefer it to the original Brawl, but in the end, everyone has their own taste

It's funny, realize if it's a DLC character and others online who haven't got the DLC will still see it, meaning the character model, moveset and voices will all download anyway to anyone in a game when there's a wallet warrior playing his DLC char.

So everyone will be downloading the DLC all the time, so the charge for the DLC...? I thought that was for the bandwidth and hosting of the DLC's costs, otherwise what will people be paying for?

Fucking DLC.

You will likely need to update to play online via patch. No online if you haven't got the latest patch through e-shop.

Through local play the game may automatically patch the other 3DS.

True, but then that seems like it would make illegitimate save editing to enable selection of these characters a reality as opposed to on the fly downloading of characters on a per room/match basis where they could be deleted upon leaving the game.

The good side to this is that it might make custom characters a lot easier to implement in the future as opposed to SSBB where they were all mostly hardcoded into the game.
