Hacking Transferring Ambassador / Downloaded Titles to 4.4 3DS

I have a launch 3DS with firmware 8.1 on it that has several downloaded titles and the Ambassador titles on it. I have another 3DS XL running firmware 4.4 (for use with a Gateway card). Is there any way that I can have the licenses for the Ambassador titles and the downloaded titles transferred from the 8.1 3DS to the 3DS XL? I was thinking I could call Nintendo and have them transfer the licenses and then download them using the Gateway's 8.1 emunand? Is this possible or does anyone have any other ideas?

You can do a system transfer to your emuNAND.

But you won't be able to use those titles on the 4.4 firmware, don't even try. And since emuNAND won't work with GBA games, I question why people keep wanting to do this in the first place.

(Though, what you CAN do is system transfer, wait a week, then backup your emuNAND and transfer back, now you have two copies)

Okay, so after I transfer them, how do I go about backing up the emuNAND before transferring back? Copy the contents of the SD card to another SD card?

You can do a system transfer to your emuNAND.

I have some questions about this. Since a NNID can only be on one 3DS at a time, what would happen if I were to switch to my other NNID after transferring my games back to my 8.1 3DS. Would I still be able to run the games on the emuNAND, or are they tied to the NNID that was used to download them from the eShop? Could I still be able to post screenshots of them to Miiverse with a different NNID?

You'll lose them if you go on the eShop from your emuNAND after transferring back.
But you can be connected to the Internet and play them fine, just avoid eShop.

You can't unlink an NNID. You can only delete it, which will delete your purchases too. So you won't be able to switch to another NNID.

So if this can be used as a partial way to get around the restriction of one NNID per 3DS, then is it possible to switch between different emuNAND backups for different accounts (even though I will not be able to use the games with the other backups)? Once the New 3DS is released and I get one, could I use the game emuNAND backup to do another system transfer to the New 3DS, then restore the emuNAND again to have the games on 3 3DSs?

...and some users are reporting that transferring from emuNAND on a 4.1-4.5 3DS to the sysNAND on another 3DS updates the sysNAND on the 4.1-4.5 3DS to the latest firmware. Have you tried this out to see if this is the case? If it is, then I am probably not going to do a system transfer.

in order to do a system transfer, you need to be on the latest firmware - the gateway 3ds on latest emunand firmware and the "normal" 3ds on latest sysnand firmware


edit: it does not automatically update your sysnand on the gateway 3ds, you probably misunderstood or misread that part
