Brawling fans who buy both console versions of Super Smash Bros for Wii U & 3DS and register them on Club Nintendo will receive complimentary soundtrack CDs.

The offer, which is valid both for Europe and North America, furnishes fans with the Super Smash Bros. Premium Sound Selection's Red and Blue discs, presumably showcasing music from both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game.

Nintendo previously published a series of minute-long snippets which offer a listen in on the new musical selections which will score the upcoming fighter. The firm says more details about the promotion are "on the way".

The company also revealed a new take on the game's All-Star battle mode which lets players take on each character based on the year of their first release.
The 3DS edition of Super Smash Bros. is due to release in October, while the Wii U version is slated to arrive in the holiday season.

A special 3DS XL Smash Bros. bundle will also be available at launch, featuring a limited edition red handheld with a Smash Bros. graphic on it

I've already got the Melee Soundtrack but this is certainly going to be miles better.

Exactly, not fair for those who only have one or the other and not both systems. Oh well, I'll just wait for the, uh, right time to yeah...*ahem*. Anyways.
Nintendo just wants to double the money. Crossbuy does not exist in their vocabulary. ; )

At these times you just gotta love the internet.

strictly a collectors item. I would keep it sealed.

Yeah but then I couldn't listen to the awesome tracks the CDs have to offer.

released on YouTube allowing everyone to bookmark each music track, smooth thinking if I must say;)

Listening to the tracks from YouTube is a pretty shitty way 'cause the quality is never going to be as good as the album ripped on the lossless FLAC format. Which is why I avoid listening to music from YouTube videos.

the quality on YouTube is admittedly much worse than listening to an mp3

the difference between CD and download is probably negligible. But even so, I doubt its worth using a CD, at least in my opinion, when an mp3 is much more convenient.

The audio quality on YouTube is of an MP3 at 128kb/s or 192 kb/s (the best MP3 is able to achieve is 320kb/s) whereas if you download a FLAC rip it's the same as the CD quality.

You could just not be stupid and pirate it. One person will dump it. There's plenty of links to the 300+ soundtrack of Brawl online.

Also, seems kinda cheap when plenty of other games have done crossbuy already.

The Brawl soundtrack ripped from the game even with lossless FLAC quality still sounds like shit and I like to own the originals unlike some of you here.

It's going to be resold on eBay but as for the price don't be expecting it to be low.

If Nintendo made a Limited Edition of it it'd perhaps be like this:
1x Super Smash Bros. for 3DS = $40
1x Super Smash Bros. for Wii U = $60
1x Super Smash Bros. 2CD = $30
1x Super Smash Bros. Big Box = $20
1x Super Smash Bros. GameCube Adaptor = $20
1x Super Smash Bros. GameCube Controller = $30

A grand total of $200. The "big box" would include everything.

It's more of a bonus thing for people who buy both. If you really want to get the soundtrack you can just download it, but if you get both versions of the game this is a nice extra.

Downloading a FLAC rip is the closest anyone will get to the original CD quality but if they go with YouTube shitty quality or MP3 then they've proven to not care about how the audio quality is. Heck, MP3's at 320Kb/s are good but not that great compared to FLAC rips.
