Ok, that makes sense. oh, and if the guy that made the code happens to read this I don't suppose you also have a code to unlock all of the cases? I can't get my save file from the previous patch to work and I don't want to have to play through the game again.

I put the AP fix in reverse and clean it up, I can do it also myself for newer games.

Great job to the translation team on the monumental effort.

I am trying to use the .dsv save files with Drastic android DS emu but it is not working. Can anyone help?

Can someone help me? I had a save file (on desmume 0.9.8) where I had completed all 3 cases on the previous patch.
I downloaded this patch, applied it to a clean rom file, and tried to play it. I then loaded my save, when I clicked on something or pressed any buttons it crashed. If the game was in the middle of an automated sequence or something it crashes, if i perform a soft reset it behaves as if I haven't even started case 1 when I have finished the first three.


Do you use save states or real saves for saving?

If you use save states, use previous patch to make real save.
When you're back in title screen, choose File > Export Backup Memory.
Then use new patch and Import Backup Memory. Choose "from imported..."
Title screen > Continue. If "From save point" crashes the game, you
need to use "From chapter start". If you have incompleted chapter
in previous patch, you may want to finish it using that patch.

Reason why saves from previous patches sometimes won't work, is because we
change things. Especially save states don't work between patches. Loading
from chapter/episode start should work every time.

Thanks a lot for the translation and congratulations on finishing it, guys!

The game works perfectly on M3 Real cards, once you apply the AP patch.

Also I've found a typo in chapter 3. At the beginning of the third part, Kate says that the chocolates she gave Ray and Greg are Master's favorite "chocoiates". There was another typo by Badd during the first part of chapter 3, but I forgot to note it.

On DeSmuME 0.9.10 for Mac, it bugs out partway during the Case 3 intro cutscene. It does the "Piece of Cake" song, then switches to looking at it as a TV screen. It pulls back the zoom on the screen... and bam, bugout.

Trying version 0.9.9 got past that spot; I think it's set off by the dialog box that is supposed to appear next. I don't know if this is a DeSmuME problem or something with the patch, but I thought I'd report it either way.

(And also, infinite gratitude for doing this translation project! I never thought I'd get the chance to play this game, and here it is with one of the most natural-feeling translations I've seen.)

Yeah, I ran into that problem too using ver 0.9.10. Funny story: When I first ran into the problem, the way I tried getting around it was to load my current safe file onto the non-patched version, let the opening play out, then save the game, then reload the game from the patched version using that save. Keep in mind that this required lots of swapping the file names back and forth to get the save to load in the right version. It did work, but then I looked through the fourms and saw your post and now I feel like an idiot doing it the hard way.:P I didn't run into this problem with the cases 1-3 patch so the problem is most likely the patch itself. Well, time to get back to the game!:yaynds:

I think I stumbled across this project when you made the second case. It was a long time since that.

I skipped the 1-3 patch, the last I had played this was the one that only had cases 1 and 2, so forgive me if this is something that had already been brought up at some point, but I had to ask...

You guys didn't do anything to soften the game up, did you? I finally got to there I lost a Logic Chess session, but the penalty was so light that I figured something had to have been changed. I only lost a tiny sliver of my "health" bar, and then went right back to the same piece that I had lost against. I would have thought that it would have been a harsher penalty or made me start the Logic Chess session from the very beginning. Was that you guys, or was the original version really this forgiving?

No, we didnt' change the penality quantity.
It is maybe possible that by translation we made it more clear or easy to find the right patch to take but i can not actually tell that because of my little japanese.
