It is a couple of weeks old, but this adapter has been announced by Nintendo to make compatible our 14+ old game cube controllers with the latest system. I see potential here for nintendont in a lot of ways. Especially because it is a wired device that may eliminate any "potential" lag caused by the Bluetooth solutions and is a four way output.

What do you guys think?

Its only about a week old at this point, don't sell the news short lol. As for the question, if Nintendo updates the vWii firmware, so that it can access the 2 front usb slots, which I believe in theory should be possible, then yes I think they could bring back GC controller support to the Wii games that could use it. Now if they did update the firmware in that way, it would probably help Nintendont development immensely in adding controller support, not only to GC controllers on a Wii U, but to other USB controllers that could be plugged into the front of the console instead of (or perhaps in addition to) the slot in the back.

I personally would wait for the big changes until we finally have access to a clean slate on Wii U mode, at least then you have the full API instead of trying to scrape together a driver for vWii mode.

With all the new stuff that's been going on, you should expect to see at least 1 or 2, if not more different exploits, both software and hardware relatively soon, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. We have the people with the skills we need to make it happen, now it just needs to happen.

I personally freaked out for this very reason when I saw it though, there's so much potential this has once we have the full power of all the libraries and the 3 cores and all the other stuff that the locked-down vWii doesn't have.
