Hacking Gateway update regarding rumors

This is Gateway official support and sales email.

We do not answer rumors, speculations and other tactics from people who are not
even real competitors but simply companies stealing our hard work. It would be
just taking away our time from what we owe our customers: Bringing them a better
and better experience with Gateway new firmware, functions and compatibility.

We have an official statement on our homepage here:

If you are not a Gateway customer, please simply contact your product
manufacturer. We only offer warranty and support for genuine Gateway card.

Simply put, we do not care about others. Our focus is to bring the best
experience to genuine Gateway users.
We can confirm that NO Gateway user had any issue with their console or their
Gateway card. And this will remain the same in the future, thanks to our team
hard work on proper testing and quality manufacturing. Another story created by
scammers about possible bricks due to faulty SD cards etc. is also false, and
just spread by clone producer claiming to be Gateway customers.

Exciting news are coming soon with our final firmware 2.0. And beyond that, much
more is still to come that will delight all our loyal customers.

They already said and it's on their site, that the modified launchers are the ones causing the bricks.

Normatt claimed some hours ago that he had knowledge about the checker code and that it caused a brick, yet he released the patch for GW's launcher carelessly.

at this point i dont think anyone is confirming or denying the bricking code, but if you where aware of it people could/should of at least been alerted to the possibility

Easy for them to say - did they put code in purposely or just deliberately not inform the cloners that all their users were about to be bricked?

Normatt's probably dealing with probabilistic scenarios for his code to work - only the Gateway team have the deterministic algorithm
 
So, i just ask. Do you trust some scene members including yellows8 and neimod or do you trust a random company making money of piracy?

For those, who where not in IRC at this time, yellows8 and neimod confirmed the bricking code.

Well you really cant trust either tbh, especially with the "Fundraiser" they endorsed only just yesterday became suspended after months of circle-jerking. The only people who everyone can trust is themselves. If you feel its safe then it is, if you feel its not then its not. End of story.

I don't really like the post on the front page of gbatemp makes me feel like gateway isn't trustworthy anymore

No they expect the cloners to perform quality check and warn their own users of the bricking possibility.

I'm amazed that I can say that with a straight face without bursting into laughter.
