vrAse turns your phone into a VR/AR headset like the Oculus Rift.

With vrAse you can enjoy movies in a huge 3D-Perfect screen, play totally immersive games and experience the awesome possibilities of Augmented Reality… everything in a super compact, portable, affordable, hands free use and upgradable device.

You have to try vrAse, to see what you have been missing all this time! The screen is so BIG, 3D contents are so perfect and vivid, and everything is done in such a simple and convenient way, that we really believe we have developed something special.

Forget TV, consoles and expensive gadgets that have wires and low resolution screens… with vrAse you can take your Smartphone to the next dimension, and have fun from day one.
They are also working with iMotion to give VR/AR mobile gamers haptic feedback and motion.

Just... no.

My concerns are about the battery, since you will need to keep your phone screen to be on all the time, and to multitask through a lot of apps. Also, since the phone camera is just one, you can't have 3D-depth while you are doing something mildly dangerous as trekking.
I like the idea, but... I won't throw money at my screen.

There are several identical products already in the making.
Durovis Dive for example, which could be tested at the Gamescom.

Is...is that a guy skateboarding wearing this shit? That's dumb as fuck, and I hope this person tripped, fell, and died.

Anyways, this would be kinda neat, I got to play with the Oculus Rift the past couple days and I quite enjoyed it, if this could give a similar experience then I would be all for it (y'know, as long as it doesn't cost $300 >.<)

Eh, the Oculus I can see myself using for short spurts of gaming, but watching an entire movie with your phone 3 inches from your face seems a bit much. I'll pass.

This looks better design wise.

Yeah, I was thinking about the battery too. It's fine when you are charging and staying in place, but otherwise a big battery drainer.

Could convert 2D into 3D,but that's probably not the same. 3D -> 2D -> 3D.

They didn't seem to go deep into the size, but it's supposedly looks like this

Question. How exactly are you supposed to play console games with this? I can see PC games through screen streaming but unless someone makes a app for all three major consoles, it's just not happening.

It's made for phones and it's for movies.

You're not. Switch to PC gaming if you want the best VR experience.

Having a mobile phone 10 cms distant from the eyes is bad.

You have to realise that the Vrase isn't simply a strap that holds your smartphone close to your eyes. It contains lenses for each eye and a central splitter, making the principles of operation identical to the Oculus Rift. Due to the resulting 3D effect, your eyes' focus isn't locked down at 10cm, meaning that the device in theory shouldn't hurt your eyes.
