Homebrew Smealum, Creator of Portal DS/Aperture Science, has hacked the 3DS

I'm hopeful and thankful for the chance of a 3DS hack coming soon, but I'm growing really tired of these "hackers" who hack a system, and never release other work, just to be a dick. Its one thing to find an exploit and keep it hush hush until its ready, but its another thing to tease with proof, and never release the hack. Yes, I'm singling you out, fail0verflow.

Marcan actually shared FoFs exploit with 31 other people at the 2012 CCC. Nothing ever surfaced from that interaction.

If he is so good at computers, why can't he take a non-blurry photo?

He said he is going to release a video today (or tomorrow depending on your time zone).
No release though.

To enter into diagnostics mode, make sure you have the latest GW release build copied to your 3DS sd card. Hold down the "L" button while triggering the "Nintendo DS Profile" entry point. The 3ds will show black/gray screens with wifi / date and battery indicators on the top screen. Insert red GW card and press "L" to start the test.

B... But reading smea's blog, he wrote that he tried some reverse-engineering, and managed to run unsigned code with DS savegames exploits on a NDS and 3DS but DS-Mode. And he's right, it's a very interesting learning exercise.
So "he hacked the 3DS" seems a little bit exagerated. Maybe one day, but hey.

Anyway, is blog is very interesting. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it in a brillant way

But its not A good way to not to release this hacks...cause nintendo will finout about these anyway even maybe in updAte 7....cause if A person did this nintendo will find it so much faster...wish u luck anyway

Its normally create - tease - never releaseing - leak - creator leaves seen for a bit - creator returns with full access or somthing - repeat from step 4....

We just need step 4....

That's good to hear. Do you know any details that you can share? Is it a new exploit or an old one? Cart-based or a clone of the Gateway exploit?

Can you actually run homebrew with this exploit, or is this just something very small.
If it's small, and can't run homebrew, i ACTUALLY don't see the point of releasing this (NO FLAMING ON ME PL0X). Still it's very nice to show what you have achieved.
