Hi all!

I'm finally going to buy a WiiU but I wanted to confirm a couple of things first...

1\ Can I hack the vWii even on the latest available firmware to date (3.1.0)?
I didn't really find a definite answer to this question though I believe it's possible.
I only need confirmation.

2\ Can I install dios mios to play GameCube games?
If so, what do I need for the lack of controller jack and whatnot?

Waiting for answers and thanks in advance ^_^

1. Yes, you can hack the vWii on a Wii U with the newest firmware. However, you will need a game exploit, like the Super Smash Brothers Brawl exploit. Letterbomb does not work on a Wii U.

2. No, DIOS MIOS will not work on a Wii U. However, if you have original GameCube discs and a Wii that can read GameCube discs, you can use a program called Devolution to play GameCube games on the Wii U. Devolution allows you to play GameCube games with either Classic Controllers, PS3 Controllers, or a Wii U Pro Controller. You can read more about it at the following thread...

I didn't get the part where I need the original Wii to play GameCube games on a WiiU.
I've read the Devolution article before and seen that it allows use of other controllers so I know about that type of workaround.

And we're talking about original GC games only not rips, right?

Sorry, I guess I could have been clearer on that. Devolution has anti-piracy protection, so you must use original GameCube discs. You are required to verify the discs once in order to load the GameCube games from an external device. To do this, you must have a Wii console (or know someone else who does), since the Wii U cannot read GameCube discs.

Yes, I am talking about original GameCube games with regard to Devolution.

OK, thanks! :yay:

EDIT: one more thing...
Can't I use the gamepad coupled with the WiiU as a controller or even as a primary screen?
I'd love to play with headphones on!
Yes you can use GamePad as Main Screen on most of the Wii U and eShop Games and headphones, i love playing NSMBU and Super Metroid (from eShop) on my GamePad Only xD

The only complaint I had with Super Metroid was wall jumping seems to be harder than on a real SNES (I owned Super Metroid when it first came out and still have it.)

From what I understand somewhere there is a slight lag, not much and 99.99% of the time you wont notice it, but with the wall jump requiring almost pixel perfect timing you can feel it.

Not sure about Megaman but I know for me I changed the L and R buttons for Super Metroid and made things a lot easier. I changed them to the triggers instead of forcing my fingers into a slightly awkward position (maybe because I was playing it laying down on a water bed... lol)
