So, i´m eagerly awaiting 2012-11-30 when i finally will be able to buy my Wii U with Nintendo Land and i have decided to buy another game aswell.

But my question is, how is the prices set on the european eShop?
Do you pay in EUR or in USD?

Cause if you pay 59,99 USD for let´s say New Super Mario Bros U on the eShop that equals to 420 SEK and if i buy the game in the retail store, it looks like i have to pay 85,13 USD.

Surely that can´t be right, can it?

Or have Nintendo said anything about buying content on the eShop should be cheaper than buying the game in a retail store?

Yeah well, only time will tell i guess.
I actually never ever understood why games on Steam are more expensive than if i bought the game in a retail store, you get less for more...

You pay for the service. You get the game direct and can start play as soon you have pay (after download of course) and the store is open 24/7 And if you wait for sales you often can get games for 50-75% off.
And you dont get a lot of boxes you need to have space for ;)

I think price will be around the same price as retail. Much like on 3DS eShop.
Pfff you'll be lucky. Here in the UK a game such as MK7 or SM3DL costs £40 on the eShop ($65). Retail generally costs around £30 ($48).

Either way, we get stupidly ripped off here in Europe. Next Ninty console I buy will be imported from US.

I don't think anyone will know this for sure yet but I would guess it's either converted to your local currency like on the 3DS, or you just pay in EUR. It's most certainly not in USD on a PAL console as that would make no sense.

Wii U games are listed at £49.99 in GAME, which I believe is the MSRP and the price you can expect to see them on the eShop. GAME are generally more expensive than anyone else, though, which is why I tend to avoid them (although I do have almost £5 worth of points to spend, yay me). They sell MK7 and SM3DL each for £34.99 at the moment, when other shops and websites are as low as £27.99.

Webhallen.
We are talking 3DS games. not Wii U games.
Just compared 3DS eShop games and 3DS Retail games..
The WiiU games is 499-599SEK so my estimate is that WiiU games on the eShop will be around the same as Retail.

Ahh, I see.
But let's hope that the eShop games are cheaper than retail.

eShop games cannot and will never be cheaper than retail. Nintendo can't set a RRP and then sell the games for less on their eShop, can't remember exactly why but it was something legal iirc.

I don't think it's illegal, but it certainly doesn't look good if they undermine their own MSRP/RRP by selling products cheaper than what they recommend retailers to sell them at. I don't think it would kill them to have a sale every now and again though, fucking rip-off merchants.

Yeah that's probably more likely, and if it's Nintendo selling it directly from their eShop I see no reason as to why it has to be so much more expensive than their US prices.
