I thought the Wii U menu deletes the exploit every time...
*raises his hand*Raise your hand if you're surprised?
Uhh... no. It's not.Uh..
*Turns on Wii U*
*Connects Wiimote to Wii which is hidden away*
*Changes channel to the one that the Wii is on*
*Makes a WAD that says "Wii U menu" on it and does nothing*
This is literally just a Wii console.
Uhh... no. It's not.
There is security added, no other exploits work, IOS exploits are fixed and this is deleted by the System Menu on boot, meaning you have to plug the SD card in after starting the game.No security added on Wii mode.
It has been confirmed by numerous reputable sources, such as crediar. It could have been faked, but that would be stupid seeing as it does actually work.He could've easily just plugged the Wii U into a bluray player and plugged that into the TV. When the switch to "Wii mode" happens, he plugs the Wii into the bluray player, and it looks like a switch has happened on the same channel, rather it's just a Wii.
I don't see at this point why you would think this has any merit to it when it'd be so easy to fake.
The resolution never switches from 1080p to the Wii's native resolution, whichever one you might pick. That, and he clearly syncs up the WiiMote with the WiiU and never lets go of it, not to mention the WiiU-specific channels clearly visible on the screen. He could've easily just plugged the Wii U into a bluray player and plugged that into the TV. Are you sure? What about Indiana Pwns etc.? Only Smash Stack works? There is security added, no other exploits work, IOS exploits are fixed and this is deleted by the System Menu on boot, meaning you have to plug the SD card in after starting the game.

Actually, looking again at WiiUBrew, I see the other game based exploits other than Twilight Hack are marked as "untested". But I am fairly confident they won't work. They have the System Menu delete Smash Stack every boot, which implies renewed exploit prevention measures in the System Menu. Seeing as the save based exploits must all be copied through the System Menu, I think it's safe to assume they will be blocked. Are you sure? What about Indiana Pwns etc.? Only Smash Stack works?
The deletion appears to be pretty random - does it occur in the Wii Menu itself, before booting the game? Leaving it in the already hacked Wii Mode leaves the modified IOS which takes care of the SD scanning vulnerable and entirely removable, I would assume that this kind of protection should be on the WiiU side of things which should check for Wii System Menu integrity upon switching modes.Actually, looking again at WiiUBrew, I see the other game based exploits other than Twilight Hack are marked as "untested". I'd say the WiiU side would check the WiiMode integrity before loading it, but I hazard a guess that it is the WiiMode SM that deletes the Smash Stack file. I haven't got a WiiU though (nor do I intend to get one in the foreseeable future), so I can't test myself and haven't seen any detailed analysis from someone trustworthy who has.The deletion appears to be pretty random - does it occur in the Wii Menu itself, before booting the game?
