PlayStation Vita price will be cut in 2013

Vita is at that point in it life to receive a price cut, just not this year according to Sony UK boss Fergal Gara. I assume he means both models. Strange that he would say this and even stranger the price cut isn't this year. If your are looking to get a vita and lose your social life, it is best to wait next year.

Now what about those memory card prices, Sony?

I read a similar story and it wasn't exactly confirmed on a price cut, just that if it was to happen, it won't come until next year.

They're still working things out with their production so they can cut the price without taking a (huge) loss.

Right now they're trying to get bundles to entice potential buyers. I think conceptually it's great but consumers will still go "OH DATS STILL A $250 PRICE TAG IT'S TOO PRICEY" when the deal is about equal to the system being at $190-$200.

Well don't bundle Madden or Assassin's Creed (though that might be a good bundle), bundle Uncharted man. Unless it was bundled, but I didn't see anything.

While I agree the average punter maybe enticed by the bundle and thrown off due to price my comment was targeted more at the parents with kids audience. I imagine there are a few whipper snappers out there who want one and at the price of $250 with a game it would probably work to entice mummy and daddy to get a Vita for little Timmy. But I have fuck all to back up this idea, just seemed good business in my head

$200 with no memory card included sounds reasonable. At most you pay $20 for a 4GB card. Boohoo.

Nope, December 25th is a regular workday in Japan. They have Christmas trees in department stores and play George Michael's "Last Christmas" on the radio ad nauseum over there around that time, but Christmas is more of a seasonal marker for them (and a reason for Japanese Starbucks to roll out more expensive peppermint lattes). Oh, and for some reason Japanese families flock to Kentucky Fried Chicken during the holiday season. Mention KFC to the Japanese and they immediately think "Christmas." It's strange.

But they make a bigger deal out of cherry blossom viewing in the spring.

Honestly, the VIta's price is very justified. The only problem is the 3DS's significantly lower price. It's only expensive compared to the competition.
Now, if the 3DS had not been released, this would have been a great price.

I never really care about the price of any device or console honestly. I always try to get launch consoles. Why? because I'll get my moneys worth, guaranteed. As long as I take care of the little bastard, it'll last me at least 2 years or more (and really, I'm not that careful...my PSP looks like shit now).

All the same, good to hear. I hope the Vita DOES get a price drop. Not like I'm on Sony's payroll anyway. It'd be nice to see even more games on the Vita. Though I'm already still going strong on what it already has to offer. I still feel like replaying some PSP games on it too, just because they look GORGEOUS.
