It's exactly 595. The translation in question is

"Shut up! I especially remember Mon!
Get lost! Fuck off!!! Move out!
This liars go somewhere!
Kosi dumb! The Hikyou also!
Clean Chinchi Henachoko "

that sounds like broken English to me, so while that may be close to what they're saying, it still seems like a bad translation at this point... hmm...

That wouldn't be the problem. The problem would be making sure what was translating is correct. You'd need to know Japanese for that.
Yup, which is why I've entered into thread management while I wait for yugixs approval B-)

Well at least it has the original Japanese text there still. That definitely helps.

Indeed.... but that person would still need to know Japanese D:
I think there are only two people on yugix's team who are fluent in Japanese.

Umm... do you know Japanese?

Anime isn't the best place to pick up phrases if it's subbed >___>

Well, I'm not really sure how you can clean up the googlish or bad English without knowing what the Japanese says. If it's machine translated it's wrong 90% of the time, so it wouldn't really be cleaning up as much as it would be mistranslated.

But if you can find people who are fluent in Japanese and English, I'm sure that would help yugix and his team greatly.

Yea tbh my original involvement was localising the digimon names.
But if theres a sentence that dont sound right, it dont take a genius to reword it.
But yea I dont got any fluent japanese speaking friends sorry.

btw, anime is awesome

If you don't know if it's correct or not, you won't know whether your reworded version would be right. It doesn't take a genius, but it takes a fluent Japanese speaker.

Anime sucks balls as a Japanese learning source :ha:

the untranslated words may be local slang which if that's the case it may be best to find a rough equivalent I know there are sites that can tell you slang so try there fluency in a language won't teach you the slang

I've been using the tools to translate the paks on my local computer so that I don't have to wait for the actual version to be released and I cannot emphasize this enough. I do not know a lick of Japanese and it is difficult. I would like to thank the awesome translators for what they are doing. Don't worry, I have since given up.

Don't people even read what comes out of the translator to see if it makes sense?
I imagine the process goes something like this.

>sees that they can help translate from Japanese
>they don't know Japanese
>feed it through Google Translate
>paste it in the document
>I'M HELPING!!

Wish I could help translating but I'm still in a very early learning fase. I know maybe 26 signs and like 10 words (don't have a lot of time on my hands with school and sports).
What could be a solution to speed thing up slightly is that each learns to recognize a simple and common word and scans the file for that word...

They aren't signs.

That wouldn't quite work if that word is in a sentence since a word can change based on the context. It may be fine if it's just a word that stands alone, though :)

Ok I meant characters but coudn't find the word. Sorry.
And indeed only when the sentece is a word on itself. Things like "ありがとう [Player Name]" can easily be replaced with "thank you [Player Name]".
It's really easy with the search function and you'd be surprised to see how many times they use this.
I did a few myself already :)
