Nintendo Letter Box/Swapnote is now available for download in JPN eShop!

More info:
When you 1st startup the app, an intro will be shown, after that they will ask whether if you want to receive messages via spotpass & streetpass. It also ask whether if you want to receive photos & recorded sounds!
As you create more notes you will receive/unlock a few messages in your "inbox". These messages introduce to you what is swapnote & how to use it to create & send messages to your friends!
Apparently Nintendo can send you notes too! You can choose to disable this feature.
You can store 3000 messages.
You will also receive a spotpass notification (Blue Light) when you receive a message! :D
The receiver must also have the app before they can receive & read the message.
You can also mass send messages to all your friends!
1 message is 4 pages long & you can only attach 1 photo per message.
15 Play coins are required to unlock the function to attached sound clips into your message.
Apparently you can unlock even more message backgrounds with play coins.
The function to save photos from messages into your SD Card requires 10 play coins to unlock.
The function to save sounds from messages into your SD Card also requires 10 play coins to unlock.
Still trying to unlock more stuff in swapnote...you have to create more notes before more stuffs are unlocked...

Everything have to be done via the app so no multitasking. Oh well at least there is spotpass notification! (Alluring BLUE LIGHT! :D)

American 3DS but I am interested. Makes me wonder how far off the release date will be from the US to Europe's release date. Europe gets it on the 22nd I think, so we will get it on the... maybe the 24-25th. And you can't multitask with it.

Wait, why would we get an app a saturday or sunday if we get Eshop updates thursday?. What you say makes no sense. If we don't get it this week, we'll get it after christmas. Simple as that.

Alright I am going to try sending message from my JPN 3DS to my US 3DS which does not have this app yet. Lets see whether if it will work...

When you 1st startup the app, there is a short intro. After creating some extra data it will ask whether you want to receive messages via spotpass & streetpass. It also ask whether you want to receive photos & recorded sounds.
Apparently Nintendo can send you notes too~ You can disable it if you do not wish to receive it.
You will receive 3 new message in your inbox at your 1st startup. The 3 message simply introduce to you what is swapnote and how can you create & send message to your friends! :D

Edit: Alright it seems that you can send message to people on your Friend List but in order for them to receive it, they will also need to have the app.

Do you mean that you can go into the Friend List and send a msg from there (allowing for multi tasking with games running)?
