Pick two:

Fast
Good
Cheap

Seriously, everybody is running around the Internet screaming " WHER R MAH GBA GAEMS", did you really not expect a hit in quality, when Nintendo is scrambling to get your FREE games to you as quick as they can??

They took their goddamn time with the GBA games, I still don't know what took them so long judging by what we got.

Eh, all rage aside, I'm enjoying the hell out of Wario Land 4, but I still can't even play Yoshi's Island without getting distracted by the smearing.

Oh hey, you're the one that wrote the article. Nice.

Anyway, this just confirms that people bitch and complain no matter what they have to pay for it, even if it's for free.

Nintendo games: bad graphics, great game design and gameplay. You all should be used to it by now ...
The worst part is that the graphics are actually really damn good, just ruined by motion blur.
It feels like I'm playing that PSP model with the severe ghosting.

I don't think the GBA games look awful, but I admit they aren't perfect.

I can live with the blur from upscaling, and all the other stuff - but there is some terrible ghosting in certain games.
Yoshi's Island stands out to me as the worst. All the others are playable, but YI actually hurts my eyes to play.

Overall, though - I'm pretty happy. After all, 10 great games is not something to complain about.
I'm just a little disappointed that it took so long, and Nintendo hasn't released them to their usual high standard.

Why does everyone say the games are FREE?!
You PAID for them as your systems were more expensive by around $100 before the price drop occured...

The reason why everyone say the games are free is because Nintendo could decided not to give anything at all to the people who purchased the system early but instead they decided not to follow that logic.

If you was actually playing the game whether than inspecting it, you wouldn't even seen/be bothered by the small things.
If you expect Nintendo to just sitting there play around with 20 games (which you still get coins from) to try to make them work on the 3ds at "top notch" exceptions
while adding other things to it which does no benefit to them all at one time despite trying to support 4 consoles(wii.wiiu,ds,3ds) and work on bigger things
then you are expecting unfairly.

edit: I wanted to write that out better, but to sleepy to completely think...

We did not pay for a console knowing the price would drop and we'd be given games. It is free since we paid for something without any intent on getting something else out of it.

I don't usually care about things like this and think people are being nitpicky usually (for instance, I think DS games look just fine on the 3DS), but after this thread I compared some of the games to how they look on the DS2. And I have to admit, Yoshi's Island is better on the DS2, but not full screen of course. The other games I could live with, given the trade off in going full screen. The only thing I need is a button remap for those, I keep hitting the wrong buttons in Kirby, lol.

i have a headache from the motion blur in yoshi's island, it's also pretty noticeable in Warioland, I don't actually think the upscaling is bad though, its as good as it could have been. Although everything does look really dull and washed out, which could be due to accurate reproduction of the gba screen, this option is also available in ds emulators and causes the screen to look duller, if that is it they need to turn it off, i played a few of them with my 3ds and ds lite side by side, the ds lite only on 2nd highest brightness and the 3ds on the highest. It was clear straight away that the DS was still way brighter and the sharpness is way better, there is also very little smearing on ds lite when playing yoshi's island.

Nintendo can and should fix this headache.

WAAAAAAY overexagerated. This sounds something like the POS rumors The Sun was spreading about the 3DS before it came out. They're just trying to rant on Nintendo. Complaining about no savestates, really? Oh what a shame, you have to play and save the games as they were originally meant to, someone have pity on him. The blur is just the exact same on a real GBA (tested using Minish Cap on my GBA and the 3DS thing), they are NOT blurry, that's called upscaling, if you dislike it so much, DISABLE it by holding start or select during starting the game.

The only thing he's right on is the color saturation, it is definately duller and less saturated than the actual GBA. That's not that big of a problem though, plus, these were all FREE, Nintendo didn't even HAVE to give them to us, so there is NO reason to complain at all.

Seriously, some people just make me sick....

Calm down.
I'm a Nintendo fanboy for the most part, but there is no excuse for this.

Savestates aren't required, but being able to stop mid-level and resume later is an extremely good feature, and guess what? That's a save state.

The motion blur is much worse than the actual hardware, I know this because I tested it literally a few hours ago.
The upscaling does cause the blurring of the screen, but there's no excuse for the digital ghosting.

Also the start/select feature barely fixes the motion blur (if at all) and renders the games at their original scale, which to be honest, does NOTHING but make the game look smaller, it's still blurry.
And sure, they're free, but if your phone sent free text messages, but half of them didn't send, you'd complain anyway.
Save states didn't even exist until the advent of emulators and piracy. At most, it's a plus feature, but not needed. If you need it to play it, that right there says a lot about the kind of player you are.

Who cares about the ambassador roms or any of that shit, nintendo unlocked a 3d movie viewer. THAT is the gift I treasure. Hell I was expecting to pay to watch 3d movies, but whatever, Nintendo hooked it up. The selection of GBA roms is pretty good though, especially compared to the abysmal NES offering.
