Er, actually there's a lot of overhead with torrents, they're worse in bandwidth than a direct download or steam.

Unless you mean for the site themselves to offer the games via torrent, in which case their bandwidth would be greatly reduced due to peering, yeah...

Anyways don't think I'm going to get this bundle, it just doesn't appeal to me (and having some of the games doesn't help).

You do know that there are quite a few bundles which have working, legal torrents online to help distribution? Torrents aren't always used for illegal purposes...

I'm really not mad at them for the "me too" set up they have here, but they were very ill equipped to deal with the response. If you're going to go big, you need to be prepared for big sales. Half-assing it is only going to piss people off (eg: Offer "free" bundles, but you get a page that they "ran out; Even the people who bought the bundles aren't receiving them in a timely manner, if at all; etc...)
