Hello, I would like to use Neogamma to be able to run my one and only precious imported gamecube game, ikaruga.

The idea, is to use a spare Sandisk 2GB SD card to run the game instead of using the original disk.

I should mention that my Wii cannot play backup disks.

I had already installed d2x56v6 (IOS249) and d2x57v6 (IOS250) because I'm using CFG USB loader.

I installed Neogamma r9 b51 on my main SD card (also Sandisk 2GB) as described in the instruct.txt file.

Using modmii, I got RVL-cMIOS-v65535(v10)_WiiGator_WiiPower_v0.2.wad which I installed with MMM.

I formatted my spare 2GB SD card as WBFS and I copied ikaruga.iso file on that card using WBFS Manager 4.0

Using the homebrew channel, I ran Neogamma and instruct it to load games from SD / SDHC. I swapped my main SD card for the one
with ikaruga and pressed A to let it mount WBFS.

Now, this is where the bad things happen. The message "Press A to mount WBFS" disappeared and that line remained blank. If I pressed A
while the menu bar was on that line all I got, was a "Launching Game" message followed by "Init drive..." and Neogamma would freeze.

I would appreciate any help on the matter, it's probably something I'm not doing right, thanks in advance.

You can't launch gamecube backups from sd card or usb with NeoGamma. Why the wbfs managers allow adding gamecube games, i really don't know.

Ikaruga might work in Swiss, but it does require an SD-Gecko or similar(gamecube memory card to sd card adapter). And the background music only works when using the retail disc or if you have a good modchip and a burned disc.

Because modchips like wode, wiikey fusion and flatmii fusion can launch GC games from a wbfs partition.
WODE from usd and sd card while the 2 fusion from sd card only.

I understand,

so is there anything I could do to play my gamecube game using Neogamma?

I do own a small external usb hard disk, could that do the trick?

BTW, thank you for your loader and the time you took to answer my question, Wiipower.

EDIT: I just noticed in your message you write it's not possible to launch GC game neither from SD nor USB.

to upgrade my neogamma do i just overwrite everything neogamma on my SD card?

If you launch it from HBC, then you only need to overwrite the boot.dol in the /apps/NeoGamma folder. If you use a channel, you need to update that channel, or if it's a forwarder channel, then you overwrite the .dol it loads from sd/usb.

Sounds like libogc doesn't like your nunchuck, maybe only the version i used. Or maybe it's the combination with the cIOS. Does this happen in other loaders as well?

I just tested WiiFlow 415 and it also crashes (but this time on boot up, not even on selecting partition)

Curiously in HBC if I plug in the nunchuck and click on an app it seems to scroll the description text down all by itself, yet the nunchuck is working fine ingame... weird.

Thanks for your help WiiPower

I believe tueidj explained about this somewhere here, something about a relatively , yet constant low range of X & Y (by default) axis readings being nullified or "validated" in Nintendo apps (hence why no "scrolling/moving")... And homebrew input checked all kind of readings, resulting in a weird scrolling.

Cheers, nice one.

I currently have NeoGamma R9 beta 50 installed on my Wii. I've just discovered that NeoGamma (or any other homebrew I've tried so far for that matter) doesn't work with the gold remote that came with Skyward Sword. That remote works perfectly in games and in the system menu but when I start NeoGamma the remote stops doing anything, the LEDs on it just flash. I haven't tried any post-beta 50 releases of NeoGamma but nothing has been mentioned about this issue in the changelog. Has the non-responsive remote problem been fixed?

It's the 1st time i hear about it, and it sounds like it's a problem with libogc. Which means i can't do anything about it, until libogc gets an update to fix this.

Judging from things I've read Nintendo have changed the name and maybe also the product ID of the new remote. I assume this has been discovered by using the Bluetooth Service Discovery Protocol.

After some more searching: Yes, PID is definitely different (was 0x0306, now 0x0330). However, changing software (e.g. Dolphin) to recognize this seems to help slightly but it does not make the remote usable, so it appears other changes have been made to the new remotes too...

so i don't need to update the NeoGamma directory on the SD root? i thought thats where the new IOS detection stuff goes?

edit: My zelda gold remote works with NeoGamma fine

If the problem is not related to the gold remote, my only guess is that the wii mote from cthulhu is not synced with his Wii. Although that doesn't make much sense, since he seems to have problems in Dolphin too.

Yes, it turns out it was my fault. I had thought that going into the home menu and performing the reconnect procedure was all you needed to do to get a new remote to work permanently with your Wii. I got it working properly by following the guide here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/gs_first_time.jsp?menu=new%20user&submenu=rvl-ht-sys-remote-sync-standard

BTW, I've never used Dolphin with a Wii remote, I was just commenting on what I had read elsewhere.

Call of Duty - Modern warfare 3 [PAL EN] won't load with NeogammaR9 beta 52.
I have IOS250[57]-v7b1d, and after the warning and the wii zapper screen it keeps Loading...
Same with disc and usb.
