im not sketchy but frustrated that it wont work.
so, i use an usb hard drive, not a stick
the dvd drive, where i use to put in the original games, is broken.
after being over and over installing and re installing, i made a few writing mistakes, but in my opinion an usb drive is not a stick.
if you dont want to help, thats fine. but i guess you know the feeling when you try to make something work again, what was functioning in the past just fine, now somehow refuses to do what everyone is suggesting.
so help or dont help. but if you do want to help met i would be verry pleased
Hey buddy, you know I think highly of you, but I gotta disagree and suggest maybe you're overreacting a bit.
USB Drive could mean usb hard drive, it could mean usb flash drive or usb thumb drive. He could have been more specific sure, but he never implied it was a flash drive. The first time someone else mentioned a flash drive he immediately corrected them.
The only moronic thing was saying he formatted the dvd drive as fat32, lol, but I chalk that up to a slip of the tongue that could happen to anyone
Anyway, after all that I'm not sure what the actual status of the Wii is anymore, lol

All good, cool off my friend, leave this one to others, you get the next one
@OP, you have 2 partitions, can you tell us which 2 and what is first (eg. Fat32 + ntfs)? Since the drive was working before and is older I'm going to assume it's MBR partitial style already and not GPT so forget what I said about that earlier.
All you can do is try formatting it differently (perhaps 100% fat32, or even wbfs as it may improve compatibility), or try a different usb loader and make sure they're up to date.
You could try a different cios combination (d2x v10 beta53 alt I think has slightly different compatibility than v8-v11), but if nothing gets it working be sure to revert to the standard recommended set up. If u didn't change cios to begin with and all of a sudden the drive stopped working, this is unlikely to be cios related.
For all the above you can use modmii to help. Usb loader setup wizard/guide for hard drive stuff and various cios wads can be found on download page 4, or the advanced downloads page if you want to change their slot to something unused like 247 when you're testing.
You could also try the drive on a dif wii, or a dif drive on the same wii, to narrow down the problem. But it depends on what you have access to.
I asked you in my previous post if your "usb drive" has one partition, along with a bunch of other questions, but you don't seem interested as you didn't answer any.
Here

Ok, thank you for the comment. It was not my intention to be so unfriendly.
But as i mentioned, after a day or 10 trying everything what is recomended, the wii is allmost oit the window...
I'll explain my problem better in a next repy

Ok, this is the problem.
I have a Wii for a while, i did a mod a few years ago.
For back up storage i use a 500gb hard disk drive, divided in two partitions.
One partition for windows storage, the other for wii games.
After not using it for a year or three, i wanted to use it again.
But now:
A: the games are not starting to play with USB loader GX or Wiiflow, whatever cios i use.
I can see the harddisk and the games on both loaders.
B: the dvd drive isn't working anymore, original games give an error.
So, i did a total reset of the wii, put on the HBC and all the stuff recomended in the wiimod guide.
Formatted the harddisk as fat32, did a game check and used wii backup manager to put the games on the harddisk.
The result is the same, no game playing and a eject error in the USB loader GX and Wiiflow

this is the current state of the usb harddisk
The problem is also, is that you must always have the first partition in FAT32, this is mainly used for gamecube and emunand games, the wii ones can be located in any of the partitions, since updated loaders such as usb loader gx, cfg loader and wiiflow detect it, I do recommend the MBR partition table for greater compatibility, although I know that the latest versions of gx and wiiflow work with GPT.

thanks for the reply.
After using the Modmii guide i formatted the HDD in FAT32 wit MBR partition. I used Wii backupp manager to verify the game and transfer it to the HDD, placed bij Wii backup manager in the WBFS folder. i used several ios settups, but no,luck
File format: ISO (full image), WBFS (only gamefiles, without empty space)
File path: USB://wbfs/Mario Kart Wii [RMCP01]/RMCP01.wbfs
Split files: RMCP01.wbf1, *.wbf2, ... need to be in same folder with RMCP01.wbfs
//EDIT: The Foldername without the underline ist the most used structur for the pathname, so this should reduce the risk of not correctly recognized. Although the other one should also function normally.
Did you check the hash in WiiBackupManager?
And launching it in USBLoaderGX gives you a black screen (like before)?
Btw, what cables & tv are you using? As it could be a video signal issue (ntsc on pal crt tvs etc).

Yes, i did a hash check. the file is ok
i switched back to te standard RYW cable with scart adapter
launching USB loader gives the game on the HDD. after hitting start, tthere comes the black screen and eventualy an error with the eject buttom alert
- You won't benefit by using that scart adapter since the cable is all that counts (and is the composite in your case).
- Again, are you using a CRT or possibly an LCD (HD) tv? Since new tvs don't come with scart input (or component) nowadays, i'd assume it's one of the two.
- Check the video mode in USBLoaderGX, if it's a PAL game set it to "disc default" or "global". If it's a NTSC game, it could be the reason why it's giving you a black screen (mainly if you're using a CRT), though out-of-region games will work on LCD (HD) tvs since they usually support both signals (PAL & NTSC), they also support various resolutions..
On second thought the above issue might be related to this (broken dusc drive)now, i'm not sure if the game loader expectts a functioning disc in order to run Wii backup games, or not, but it sure is something to consider and think about.
Any thoughts about this @XFlak?
^Also, i searched through the 2 pages on this thread and you didn't say anything about installing Priiloader, even after i told you to do so in my previous post here. It's important to have it installed and have the "region free everything" etc. hacks enabled like it shows in the guide.
- Not sure if the HBC running on IOS61 instead of 58 would have any effect on things, but i don't think it's the one behind what you're experiencing (imo).

All and all, you might need to change the hdd or it's enclosure or both (incompatible hdd?), and test with a new one. unless it's the culprit is the disc drive (i don't think), then you're shit out of luck..

If you're having such bad luck with USBLoaderGX try with Wiiflow Lite, or is it the same for both? Or maybe CFG?
Not sure about that, does this exact thing happen with all the games, or just one?

I did a new instalation using the Wiimod guide, with that came Priiloader, i used all te advised settings, including the region free setting.
With the new instalation HBC is running on ios 58
All the suggested usb loaders have the same result, game shows up, starting it results in a black screen and an eject notafication.
the hdd is fine, till 2 weeks ago i used it in the original setting ( 2 partitions, 1 for network drive, 1 for wii) never had a problem.
i just formated it again to a hdd with one partition as FAT32 with mbr.
i never had to use the dvd drive with any game dvd in it to plau back upps froms the HDD drive.
Til a few weeks ago i started using the wii again and noticed the dvd gave an error ( i putted in an origanal borrowed game) and all hell broke loose...
i wil post a new sys file soon with the current situation
I don't now how long the disc drive isn't working.
i did not use the wii to pay wii games for a long time.
It was mostly used, if used, for NES games.
just recently i wanted to use it for the wiifit game
And indeed, dvd drive as the disk drive
what happened:
The HDD drive with games was connected as before in the old situation. 2 partitions as mentioned before.
I tried to play the wiifit backupp but also as mentioned, after trying differtent usb loaders, black screen and error.
I thought, ok, that s@cks, but i just buy a second hand wiifit game and play it from the disk.
Than came the cant read disk error.
i tried an other game disk, same error.
And now here i am. . ...
And i'm not the only one with this problem, looking at the views

Ok, i get that the disc drive can't read your disc because it's broken, what i don't get is why it won't allow you to play your backup game from the hdd.

Again, does this "disc read error" happen when loading the game backup, or are you talking about the game disc? If the former, that doesn't make any sense.

The disc error comes up in the backup loaders.
After starting the game from the hdd drive, the screen goes black and after a few minutes the "push the eject button" apears
When i put an original gamedisk in the disc drive, it spins, and after a few second i get the same "push the eject button"
at this point, all the solutions are not working.
several times i erared the wii memory and started all over with the Modmii guide.
I reformated my hdd several times with all the sugested settings FAT32 and Mbr
I used Wiibackup manager to transfer the game iso's to the WBFS folder.
i tried the game with several ios
so, i'm stuck.
i apreciate the help, but at this time i'm doing the same thing over and over, and keep posting the same results and what i did as advised.
