Ever since I upgraded my memory card to 1tb and started using RCM I occasionally get an issue where my switch refuses to turn on. I have solved this by waiting 5 minutes, but I have a bad gut feeling about this and decided that it would be best to post on GBAtemp. Anyone else run into a similar problem?

Right now switch is working fine but I have a bad feeling about this.

Doesn’t feel like a function of CFW or using RCM. Smells more like you might be having some sort of hardware issue. If you think it[s your SDCard, buy a cheap 64G card and deploy to it and see if the problem goes away. If not…it likely something in the Switch itself. Check for heat issues maybe?

You will need Tesla Menu, NX-ovlloader and status-monitor-overlay (see links below…there is more to the whole Tesla suite so I left all links in place…enjoy!)

So check for over heating? I've only had this issue twice and it doesn't seem like too big of a deal except for the fact that it makes no sense. I don't think it is an SD card issue as I just tested my sd card with h2testw. Started getting this issue after using RCM jig so I am worried that maybe something shorted.

What should I do once I download Tesla?

My switch is working fine now and has been on for days(sleep mode at times). I am not seeing any issues which is strange. All I had to do to resolve the issue before is to completely turn off the unit and wait a bit.

I was just thinking of things you might want to cross off your list. If it’s not happening any more then you’re probably fine and it will be hard to test anything you might do to “fix” things. There’s a general discussion on how to run Tesla in the top link but if you don’t think heat is a possibility that’s fine too.

Did you fully test and verify the card?
I only had 400gb of space left since I used the rest for games but it showed 0 errors using H2testw. Not sure if it was a one time thing, but the first time it happened RCM refused to work. Not sure if the jig can short something. It has only happened to me twice and the 2nd time happened after I removed the SD card while in emunand.

That is different than doing an actually test though, because for h2testw it write to the card, then it verify it.

Do you only get this issue in rcm? Like has this ever happened on a normal straight to ofw boot? When i first got an rcm loader I had an issue with it not injecting the latest hekate. Once the inject failed I was stuck in rcm and had to hold power to force shut down before I could properly inject anything again via pc or android or even just to normal ofw boot. Next time it happens try holding power for 15-20 secs and normal boot to make sure you aren't stuck in a buggy rcm state, power off and try to inject again.

h2test ran for hours and it wrote to the SD card. It then verified that it had 0 errors. It said "Test finished without errors". Usually when the card is fake it shows up marking errors. Visually the card looks real from what I have researched online. I've spent quite a while staring at the SD card watching videos to spot the fakes and this one passes all the test.

Then the issue isn't the card, it is something else with the way you have the switch is setup.

It’s happened twice but otherwise is running fine. Hacking is like that sometimes. Unless there are some currently occurring symptoms it;s going to be hard to track anything down.
