Well, I have a feeling the game was actually never complete from the beginning. He was just using it to draw in a crowd. I mean, he's constantly delaying it and so far has only released a proof-of-concept demo and the intro of the game.

Meh, I really don't care about this any more. A lot of the "hype" was riding on the coat tails of Spirit Tracks. Now that everyone is playing Spirit Tracks, the hype is gone.

I have no faith in this game being finished, or even started for that matter. When i first saw it i was quite excited as it looked great but no screenies, no vids not even an updated demo, disappointing

Shame someone should actually work on something like this, it would be great

xD It IS that important. Obviously for any Zelda fan (which I am not), another addition to the collection is always great (unless the game sucks....). Plus since its obvious that our wonderful homebrew community has flashcarts and since we all are obviously NOT pirates (xD yeah right, that is probably something I wouldn't bet on), then what other choice is there but to play a homebrew Zelda game xD.

Ok, I know what vaporware is now xD. If anything though, it will probably be considered definite vaporware after December 20th, since that is about the farthest delayed date so far (I think).

Just because a developer says a game in completed doesn't mean it's ready for release. He could have found a huge bug, maybe he wanted to add some more features, etc.

Come back when you've actually tried making a game, and set an exact release date. Trust me, chances are the day you release it will be far from the date you set.

Come back when you've actually tried making a game, and set an exact release date. Trust me, chances are the day you release it will be far from the date you set.

On the contrary, if the dev says that the game IS complete then it SHOULD be complete. He announced a game, gave out dates that have come and gone, and now he says, "it will be done when it is done". Why else would he say it is complete except to get peoples hopes up? The thing is, the game is not near completion what so ever, so he lied about it being finished.

I am sick and tired of fools defending people who start threads about games that, in theory could be awesome, i.e. Zelda, then don't come through. They say "Why don't you develop game!", "Maybe he wanted to add extra stuff or fix bugs," I am not the one claiming to be a developer, so I don't have to prove anything to anyone, he does, and he hasn't.

Do you really think that ONE 13 year old kid could take on an entire Zelda game by himself, and expect him to finish the game in a relatively soon time frame? And that it will be good at that?

Let me reiterate, everyone is a fool who defends a person like him.

same opinion here..i can´t say: hey i made a game and i will release it on day xx while knowing that I can´t keep my promises...as an excuse he should release a beta at least...at the moment i´m working on a Donkey Kong Country hack and I don´t publish any release dates, because of such reactions...

The fact of the matter is, and most of us will probably have seen this a million times before, he has constantly contradicted himself, set release dates then pulled out at the last minute for more or less no reason. Acted totally erratic over the content and development of the game (pulled out, then come back). And the whole time he has been stringing people along with little tasters that offer nothing then small glimpses of what could be a basic engine for the game and an intro screen.

If you've been part of the homebrew scene for a while then you should know these are the most obvious signs of a game being total vaporware. Its just obviously bullshit.

There is obviously still a small chance he's going to prove me wrong, and if thats the case then all credit to him. I would say to everyone at this point however, dont get you hopes up.

You should all remember that even 1st party games run into problems. Homebrew does so more often. These people aren't getting paid, and when something comes up, they can't keep working on it. Chill and wait.

Don't get your hopes up, this isn't the first time he has "canceled" the game. Give it a few days he may be back. Or maybe he has finally realized his skills don't come anywhere near the claims he has been making about the game and he will give up.
