I've been playing BotW since the start of the month with it installed on a usb flash drive, It has been running smoothly ever since yesterday when I started getting 160-0105 error code, apparently "There is a problem with the USB storage device. Please contact ... etc.." Is there anything I can do ? I'd hate to lose my 50+ hour save file.

Can you open BOTW at all?

Yes I can start BotW.
Sometimes I can load a save file, sometimes I can't, when I do load it, approaching new areas or something like fast travel can crash it to show the error message

Use Y cable.
If that doesn't work, dump your save with Saviine and install BotW to NAND.

I've been suggested to delete the original leaked update and install the update when you start the game and it promts you to install it, would this be a secure method ?

I would recommend you backup you savefiles and delete and reinstall BOTW the update isn't the fault here.

hello, i have the same problem. It was all going fine, but every single timeI come close to one specific tower in the game, the error happens. Did you manage to find a solution?

saviine is pretty easy to use. all u need to do is enable the dumper, then open the game u want to dump the save of. then, to restore, make a new save file of the game, and use the restore option. u must create a save file for it to be restorable. also, SCT, can dump game saves (not restore them due to a bug I think - not sure), but u can use saviine to restore the saves. note: it can take a while to load up the save manager since it reads over the entire hdd so saviine would be faster for dumping and restoring. also, there's a new save manager (can't recall the name) that can backup/restore game saves. I believe it does the same thing saviine does in that u need a save on the system in order to restore it. that app is on temp, so just google it with temp in the name, and u should be able to find it.

i managed just now to retrieve my save and holy cow do I feel a huge relief, because I was seeing no other option to get back my save. The backup system of the Wii U is one of the most baffling things I have seen in a very long time, I simply need to find a way now to transfer the game on my usb to the internal memory of the console in the hopes that the error wont show up again. i hope to god that its really just a usb problem and not something else, otherwise im gonna be forced to abandon this game, since im already 60 hours in.

it's most likely ur flash drive. I'm personally using a WD elements hdd with a y cable, and it's never disconnected. and, there have been times where I've fallen asleep while gaming on the wii u. it's never caused me any issues other than a higher electric bill. :P

it was going fine for those 60 hours, alot of framerate drops but I think its from the game itself and not really the flash drive. But for some odd reason, everytime I got close to one specific tower, boom, without a fail. Maybe it was a very overloaded area, no idea. And I did find another guy on the internet who had the exact same problem on the same area.

Hello Hattori300 I am having the same error for the save in Zelda can you help me on how to restore my save? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I got the same problem but it appears always when I finish the second Sword Trial. Its so frustrating to do the Trial again and again but it always crashes. Maybe it relates to the DLC and I can just reinstall this?
