Well we won't need any japanese characters when we are 100% done with the trans. All we will need is the single byte ascii, and some basic symbols.
If he makes a font for us, we just need to translate the text in the rom, and load up the font file, then it will look good.
So if he thinks "creating" a new file is faster, then he won't need to edit an existing file.
