I just started listening to Nirvana about a year ago and I read up on his death and I believe he was murdered. I just wanted to see what you guys think.

Edit: forgot to mention his death was ruled suicide.

Problem they had was the Nevermind album, it was to popular. They were going to struggle measure up to those standards again. It's like Alanis Morrisette and Jagged Little Pill, Oasis and Morning Glory etc etc.

When you reach the top, the only way is down.

Kobain, what a loser, to blow his brains out like that. As I remember it, he wanted to be in the 27 club, just like Jimmy Morrison and other musicians. He did make some good music though, which will be enjoyed by many for years to come.

Completely agree....NEVERMIND was such a masterpiece, that the later albums, never got near it in terms of quality.I'd rather listen to the first album, anyday of the week, than the later ones....

your are all fools. Kurt Cobain was a sad guy who couldn't tough it out and killed himself, these things happen about every 16 minutes here in the USA. As for the music Nirvana never tailored an album to a certain audience or in order to achieve mainstream success, they just did what they did and happened to be in the right place at the right time and became the "next big thing". Artistically they use simple chords and riffs and things that are easy and fun to sing along to. Both Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl are awesome when it comes to composition and their style was never influenced by their own success, in fact Rape Me is almost the same song as Smells Like Teen Spirit and the lyrics address the media circus surrounding them and the label trying to score another Nevermind.

Those who think that suicide is an easy option, have obviously never been to the deep depths of depression. Consider yourself lucky, it's not a nice place to be, all rules of logic break down.

Suicide and in retrospect I agree, overrated. There's plenty other grunge bands and other alternative bands that have a bigger following and you don't see them killing themselves.

He had issues since he was young. If you read about it, you'll see that he was on a downward spiral before he became famous. It looks like fame and fortune does not change a thing.

He couldn't handle the drugs, got depressed as they didn't him cope with things and just couldn't take no more so he shot his brains out.

That is all.
