everyone needs to take a chill pill and take a business class instead of acting like something nefarious and evil is going on. It's just silly.

There's already been 3 pages of comments that treat this like a business class, with "supply and demand" mentioned a lot. I get that, I took Economics in high school. It's still outrageous in my opinion that a game like that sells for $70 used, when it should be at most $30.

Okai, so you know how the day Smealum released that cubic ninja was the game for exploitation, prices skyrocketed and N removed it from the eshop? What would have happened had he said Sm4sh? Would N still have removed it and reacted so crazy? xD

yeah... you don't get it :)

I definitely think it should cost $70 given the state of exploit options, maybe even $100. As the emulators improve and hope of new exploits languish it should probably go up higher.

--edit--
that said it might cap at or below the price of a sky3ds if you assume many people interested in homebrew are okay stealing games and therefore would get the CN ROM.

but given that stealing is wrong, I'd pay a premium for a legit copy of CN.

I bought a copy on eBay for like $20 but then I found out it'd take like 4 months to ship. But then I found out a somewhat nearby GameStop has a copy for $25. But I can't cancel the eBay order.

ITT: Ninjhax success stories.
I don't mean to sound rude, but yes, we get it, you lucked out and managed to snatch a copy of a shovelware title for cheap before word got out that it was an exploitable title. Congratulations.
However - and I realize this isn't necessarily the intent - posting your stories here just makes it seem like you're rubbing it on OP's face, which honestly seems kind of mean.
Anyway.
/end of unnecessary rant

Like I mentioned before, OoT would be your best bet. I really don't recommend getting Smash for hax because let's face it, Smashhax isn't the most polished of entrypoints and you'd have to lug around a laptop with Linux every time you wanted to boot into HBL, which is of course not a very practical solution.
Or if you want to take more drastic measures, sell your 3DS and buy a new one. You might even be able to get one on a firmware under 9.2, which means you get kernel access.

I do get it, I just believe that the price is outrageous. Thinking that makes me "not get it?" Cubic Ninja is a backup plan, but these days free alternatives pop up, and while it takes time to wait for them to come, they do. Even when something is patched, something new rolls around. I can wait for those free alternatives, therefore trying to pay that much for a backup is just absurd to me.

That's what I get.

Soooo guys
60 euros sell or not sell ?
I cant decide

I originally paid 20
I would definitely hold onto it as an investment.

Considering I estimated the upper value at around $100... what if the price goes up!? It could! Who knows!

In fact, each time someone in this thread disagrees with me, what I think CN is worth will go up $10 to compensate for the low valuations of people who disagree with me. OUTRAGEOUS RIGHT?! but DAMNIT. I will CONTROL this threads average perceived CN value whether they like it or NOT!

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
