You have options, use them.

You can buy the game from Gamestop.com, there's an option for in-store pickup, buy the game online, select the closest store to you, and you'll be notified when it arrives and you can pick it up.

Supply and Demand indeed, but you can win vs the demand if you have the knowledge to work around it.

Supply was a lot higher on those, you can still buy them from any Wal*Mart. Supply is a lot lower on this game, so the demand is a lot higher.
Lower the supply and the demand will grow, so until those two drop from retailers, they won't get this high just yet.

Got mine if ol' Amazon when it was cheap. When I how the price jumped up, I was all tempted to sell it, knowing that it's no longer needed to run homebrew after installing menuhax, if I'm correct. But I'm keeping it encase I screw something up.
I believe you also need it to install new homebrew versions in the future.
