Is the.. this is how you ISO>PS3, This is how you PKG>PS3, this is how you Folder>PS3??? I personally know that the size of ISO and PKG cant fit on Fat32... so where is the NTFS, ISO/PKG>PS3? Folder Games fit on Fat32 but where is the Folder to PS3?

I have tried copying folder games to the PS3 off of a USB and nothing is visible... I tried locally copying to ISO and though it is visible it just goes back to the XMB.. I tried installing games as PKG and they want an update and then they don't work afterwards...

I installed Minecraft and it updated but when I load it the game says Failed to launch... Ratchet and Clank says it needs to update but when I press X nothing happens...

I recently switched my PS3 library from folders fat32 to iso ntfs

Format HDD NTFS

Make PS3ISO folder in root of USB

Put ps3 iso game in PS3ISO folder

Make sure to have webman installed

In webman do a refresh of xml

Games will be in webman under PS3

I'll try that thank you...

Ok so Minecraft came as a PKG game. I installed it through the REBUG PKG installer. When the game launches it says "Minecraft PS3 Edition" has failed to load, and cannot continue.

Ratchet and Clank came as a set of folders. I copied the folders over to the PS3. I then selected the folder and chose to Copy-to-ISO into the internal PS3ISO folder. I did as suggested above and did the webman refresh and then it showed up under the webman folders. Just as when I launched it with multiman though, the game gets to a screen that says it needs to install game data onto the internal HDD and I need to push X. Then it seems like it is frozen because I push X and it does nothing... nothing at all.

After some more research I have solved my problems. Thank you to everyone that stopped by but was not ready to reply yet.

As for Minecraft, the PKG I had was bad another one from a different source fixed the issue.

As for Ratchet and Clank, I am going to assume there was a quirk in the system when I transfered the Folder/Files over to the PS3 and then tried the Copy-to-ISO method. The reason I make that assumption is based on knew knowledge. I found a PC app that handles verifying Folder/ISO games that also converts Folder games into ISO (PS3-ISO-Rebuilder). When I verified the Ratchet and Clank Folder game everything was fine. I used the same app to build a new ISO and transferred it over to the PS3 and the game worked no prob.

Ok so all that being said... I now have the knowledge to answer my first question....
ISO Game - Use an NTFS drive, Use IRISMan to transfer the ISO to the PS3
Folder Game - Use PS3-ISO-Rebuilder to convert to ISO and then follow the above
PKG Game - Use the Package installer built into REBUG CFW/IRISMan

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
