I just used it and no problems.



I guess if this update shows up, you can always not download the update.
Unless its a sneaky one.

Well, it does have a "RESTORE" function, so if it doesn't work, you can just restore it back

i got the latest version 2.2.3

apparently its immune to this WAT update, only time can tell.

Worked well, i restored back just fine as well, so it works both ways

Else, just turn of the automatic updates and you're fine !

Only affects loaders. No need for anything if you did it the correct way.

I'd recommend everybody to use the method that won't be detected so you can turn windows updates back on. It's very important to keep your operating system up to date, otherwise you could end up with some sort of infection or problem that would cause you more trouble in the long run than it would be to just change "activation methods" right now.

Well, they're just going to change it from automatic to manual. They can still update it. Just not automatically.

I used 'Kazowar's loader (if that's what it's called). I guess I should use the BIOS method, instead.

I have a genuine copy of windows on my PC and my laptop, but one day I turned on my laptop and was suddenly met with a "not genuine" message.

It hasn't appeared since though, it was probably just an error since Windows still believes it is genuine (which it is, it was a student upgrade)

Windows 7 was worth buying so I bought it, simple as that. Disabling updates may be a solution but it could also leave you open to exploits and security vulnerabilities and since you are already a pirate, you are already at more risk from them.

I can understand if this was Crapsta I mean Vista but Windows 7 is great.

I've been running Ultimate 32-bit with a legit key and disc since the first week or so of October, so I feel safe. There's not much they can do since the leaked copy of the RTM I used was unactivated by any means before putting my product key in. For once I feel secure in that MS isn't going to come up with some shit to nag me about.

you dont just get MSDNAA for being a student

you have to be one involved in a technology major, but also the uni/college has to have the program set up with MS to offer it

I have had Windows 7 Ultimate installed for a long time and used a loader to activate it and it works perfect i update all the time automatic updates turned on the whole shabang

after clicking activation
everything is back to normal

damn you m$ don't do that to the genuine users
