I'm really surprised at how good it runs, it runs faster than my old XP did.

Came out 2 days after I downloaded 6956.
Installed it in a virtual machine to test it out

Can you tell me your PC's specs? And is it working well on VM? Well i would like to use this as primary OS but for playing around I gues I could install it on VM.

Tested yesterday by someone on an AMD Athlon 3500+ system. Worked fairly well was able to run RA3 pretty smoothly aswel as TMNF and UT2K4. Indeed likening to the speed of XP so to speak. Installed nothing else beside LAN, video (7900GT), audio (all with Vista drivers) and games (was on a lan party). All in all I'd even consider making the switch now

It's a Mac

2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM

You could always try to run it on a VM, download the trial of VMWare (Parallels Desktop doesn't work with 7 with my tests and freezes at setup) and install it.

So you had to manually install the video, audio and LAN driver?

Prime: There's a crack going around, it's on torrent sites already, skip the serial key, and use it, but make sure to run as administrator, not just double click, or just open, safe mode or admin, barely figured that out and got rid of the water mark too.

Kamui: Couldn't you just use updates to find all the drivers, Iwas kinda unhappy too when the sound wouldnt work, but now it works.

It's probably my computer, but why is the task bar big?

EDIT: Is it because my laptop sucks and can't run it fully?

(FUCK, it shut off on me! Crappy old averatec laptop! Does anyone know where to find those 3 programs that helped cool it down? I had them, but upgrading to 7 it didn't keep. Lucky me, all text I typed didn't go away.

The taskbar is supposed to be that big in Windows 7, so it's not caused by your laptop.

That's the regular Windows 7 Taskbar lol
Yeah it's weird (imo)
Oh, I thought I saw it look like Vista once.
Also, is that window preview function in it still? Like when you go to the taskbar and hover over an icon, isn't it supposed to show?

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
