I'm thinking about hacking my Wii U to allow it to play Wii games from my USB drive.

I was just wondering if the Wii U will still upscale them. Will they be treated exactly like my normal on CD Wii games?

Thanks.

Not yet, you can only get 480p, currently no home-brew for wiiU/Vwii can upscale or render games, we need kernel access and IOSU access as well as access to the file system before that happens. I can't wait. :)

They should, though be warned, if you mess something up installing any cIOSes, then you're not able to restore your NAND like you can on a Wii :P

Wii U upscales vWii to the TV resolution, but it's rendered in 480p (or 576i).

Like all TVs do to 480P content.

The WiiU does the upscaling though, not the TV. Wii games also come out of the system at 1080p or whatever your Wii U is set for in Wii U mode. They just aren't treated as such internally, which is why they don't look as good as in Dolphin which uprenders them.
