Yes, as long as you have a chip in your Wii. Brawl is a Dual-Layered disc, and the Wii (well, most anyway) can read that. You'd only need it though if you wanted to burn the full version of Brawl.

Well I don't have one because I don't need them, TBH.

But the Wii can only read the standard DVD colour; that silver colour. So that's why.

Just use single layer disc. All games except SSBB are single layer and those discs are a lot cheaper.

how can i when the iso is 7+ gigs?

there are isos in the DVD5 range that have all the movies taken out

and its more then likely your modchip is old. only the newer / updated chips can read DL

color of the DVD has no difference -.-

Then you should send it to Nintendo and they'll fix it for free...But that's if you want to.

lol tell them it wont read burnt disks

well i tried some fujis and burned them at the slowest speed 2.4x and it still wont work. the wii makes loud clicking noises on both disk so I guess it wont read DL disks
I wonder if the original brawl works.

Fuji Dual Layer Media = crap.
Memorex Dual Layer Media = crap.

Verbatim made in Singapore, burned at 4-6x on a quality burner is the way to go. Burning slower will actually create a disc with lower quality PI and PIF scores.

A good burner would be an Pioneer Dual layer burner, Benq, Optiarc, recent Lite-ons, etc.
