wow, it even started playing a H264 file... It was choppy but it still handled itself, it was a little bit above dvd quality.

Plays avi's perfectly fine too.. This is by far the best media player for the wii. I might start using this instead of the computer now

Thank you very much for this.

Your hard work is greatly appreciated.

I am delighted to report that the update fixed the problems I had having a NTFS drive connected.

I was also delighted to see the automatic update prompt, very cool.

There I was showing off the app to my family, explaining they'd need to remove the HD, which I wasnt happy with, when the update popped up, and now it runs fine.

Still a few tweaks needed, but great work so far.

AWESOME already. Thank you. One request: play all music in a folder instead of having to tick tracks...

Tick the folder.

Yeah, what I really meant to say (and didn't manage it) was that when I tick a folder I would expect it it to also recursively tick the subfolders and their contents. At the moment, with SMB at least, it only ticks tracks at the first level within the ticked folder. If it is supposed to automatically do recursive folder selection (as you implied when you closed my feature request) then it isn't working like that on the SMB folders that I have tried it with. I don't want to get into a "thing" about this - I love WiiMC already - just offering a view...

I hope to see continued support for this. Can themes or skins be possible?

There are no plans to introduce customisable themes/skins.

Anyone experiencing problems should post them on the WiiMC.org forum or bug tracker (with as much detail as possible). That way the devs can get a good idea of what needs to be fixed.

Absolutely excellent player!

Is it possible to improve its flash playback and or/link it to more/better streaming sites.

I know people have been trying to improve flash on wii through browsers for a while and nothing has ever come of it...

For my iphone I have been looking into this: http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2010/02/02/...t-flash-player/ but I'm sure I read somewhere that it requires the site itself to have gordon included, and then any browser (except for IE) can run flash... just a thought.

I tried watching family guy through that navi-x thing and it was dropping frames and blurring/pixellating all over the shop, I have a 50mb line and I found it useless.

You are never going to improve Flash through Gordon because you're going through two intermediaries, where one (JavaScript) isn't exactly efficient (understatement here) and heavily depends on the JavaScript engine of whatever browser is viewing it with.

Cool thanks for clearing that up.

I can't launch my DVD movies, can't recognoise DVD format, or something like that. It needs to be original DVD movies?

P.D.: I have no problems running data from DVD, including video.

It is supposed to recursively select files, and this does indeed work. There was a bug in tinysmb that I had to fix to make this happen, so I have tested it.

is there a particular port order ? like usb1=port0, usb2=port1, usb3=hub on port x ?
(it's just my curiosity, I don't have any hub to test)

WOW, they have really out done themselves this time. Mplayer was my most used application on my WII but now this is. Only thing that I would like to see in it are a screen burn in prevention option and a possibility to change the back ground.

Again thanks for the work and getting this application to reality.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.

What matters now is that he's doing alright.
