GC-Linux.org have announced they have Linux running natively on the Wii using the Twilight Hack. They have even released a mini-distro/proof-of-concept.

QUOTE said:
24 Feb 2008: Long time, no see Although we haven't posted any news in the last 2 years, we have silently continued our work keeping the kernel patches up to date. With the latest 2.6.24 release we have added support for the USB Gecko adapter as a console and terminal, so you can now logon into your gc-linux distro using minicom or HyperTerminal. And last but not least, we have finally run natively Linux on the Nintendo Wii through Team Tweezers' twilight-hack. We have released a small usbgecko-enabled Proof of Concept mini-distro to prove it. Did I say have fun?

The fast development is because of the fact that the wii is almost a gamecube

True, true, but the differences were enough to cause this 1+ year of homebrew drought.
Thats not really how it works.
What of the Starlet? That's a major difference in the Wii's architecture that took the Zelda exploit team some time to find out.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
