Hacking Wiijmanager or alternative

I'm still very new to this but was successfully using wiijmanager v0.8 until without reason (that I can tell anyway) it stopped loading my backup drive from the wii.
Panel 2 still works and I can "select folder" but in Panel 1 when I click on "dev/rdisk1s1" nothing happens...

While troubleshooting I have noticed the wiijmanager project is no longer active so I have 2 questions.
1. Anyone have any thoughts on why the program just stopped working and can I fix it?
2. Is there any other mac options? I noticed WiiBaFu was meant to have a mac option but can only find a "win32" download.
