The problem with using the Twilight Hack to "get back in" after the update is that the Twilight Hack may not work at all any more. Nintendo tried to block it last time, and it was easily circumvented -- who's to say they didn't do a better job this time?
The twilight hack is to 99% certainty not affected, since Nintendo only added/patched IOS-versions and the Wii shop channel in this update. Read it for yourself in the impersonator log...

I dunno, maybe I just don't understand why they'd go patch all the old IOSes, yet leave the Twilight Hack untouched.

Maybe it'd be better to wait and see what this update actually does, I see some reports of HBC being broken and completely unusable, while others say it doesn't affect it at all.

I just blocked my wii's mac id from accessing the internet and can still access my lan. so i can still make my backups through wifi as needed. i am confident that a fix will arise through our 1337 73@|\/| of coders, before any games come out with FW updates. all the work these peeps are putting into 0.3 right now, i doubt a situation like this will make them tuck their tails and run.

But just to know, even if it doesn't do anything bad to the HBC and TH do i have to reinstall the cIOS after the update?
It's actually a general question, not related to THIS update.

lol its done!!!

* Ability to copy WiiWare/ Virtual Console Games Directly to an SD-Card
* You will need to go through just one process in order to transfer Virtual Console or WiiWare software stored on an SD card to the Wii console and then be able to play it. [1]
* Removed RSA encryption and allows homebrew software to run natively without any third party software

And your vandalism has already been reverted. Thanks for proving that Wikipedia works.

There is nothing blocked in this version! (Except the things that were blocked in the previous update)

no, what i mean is i manually blocked my wii's Mac Address in my router from accessing the web, it will be impossible to update even accidentally. i am content with my Wii the way it is and can hardly wait for the new loader.

EDIT: (I am an IT business owner, so i do networking all day lol) Well i am off to bed, keep up the good work!

can someone with 3.4 do a video to prove that HBC and Backup Loaders still work to either confirm or deny this once and for all?

got this message at about 12:30AM:

An update to the Wii Shop Channel
is now available for your Wii console.

To receive this free update, please
select the Update button at the
bottom of the screen or select the
System Update option in Wii System
Settings.

Because unauthorized modifications
to save files may impair game play
or the Wii console, performing this
update will also check for and
automatically remove such save
files.

**Please note:

If you've updated your Wii console
after October 22nd, you may not
need to update again.

Thank you for updating you Wii
console!

Nintendo

Do you guys remember last time?
Nintendo took a few months testing the new update to destroy TH before releasing it, because they didn't want to break anyone's Wii. They wouldn't release a HB-Breaking update in such a short notice...
Anyway, I'm updating right now and I'll try to post a YouTube video of me running it and... using HB or running a backup or something... I just hope that YouTube will let me post the video, because it's been a pain to upload any video there...

-EDIT:-
I'm done with the update. Just tested Homebrew Channel = Working, Wiigator's BackUp Loader = Working [With Soul Eater Wii].
In case you're wondering, no this is NOT version 3.4E [PAL Wii], it's just a minor update to version 3.3E. I'll post a video as soon as I can.

PAL Wii owners, feel free to update! =D

Is this true for this update???

Does it actually change the menu to 3.4??

If it doesn't, then I've already done the update... and HBC/WiiBackupLoaders still work 100%

No this is a total fabrication that someone posts everytime there is an update do not believe what was quoted! It appears to be a minor update that affects the shopping channel. There are people still testing this but it looks as if it is not a major update. Think i will stick with my original version doesn't seem much point updating yet.

Thetonman

Not quick enough you beat me to it jam see post above lol

No, Menu's still 3.3X. And yes: HBC, Backup Loaders work. Haven't tested TH yet.
