I've been downloading every single firmware update for the Wii that's been available, and have also installed the update from Super Mario Galaxy. Am I still able to install a YAOSM mod chip, and will I still be able to take Wii updates? Or will this have caused me problems?

Thanks

@Badcatalex, Ooh, what discoveries have you made from those Kindles?
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
they're not consoles but are cool, eink is underrated
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I know what Kindles are, they're like an e-book reader.
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
uh none, I don't have coding skills lol
they are cool though and I wish people would use them more
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
I have several Kindles too, even a 1st gen one
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Badcatalex, I like reading hardback books instead of using my PC for programming but then again those sorts of books for vintage CPUs are expensive.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Perhaps if I come across an e-book reader for cheap, then I suppose I could use that.
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
I actually got a free kindle oasis 3 because of it, since it was how amazon compensated 1st gen device owners when the 2g/3g services shut down here in the US
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
(1st gen kindle, 2nd gen kindle, and the kindle dx all had no wifi, only cellular data over 2g/3g)
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
you can get ereaders for cheap if you know where to look
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I could maybe convert PDF files into a compatible format for the Kindle.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Badcatalex, Yes. I'll maybe look at some point.
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
places like woot and unclaimed luggage are great for finding cheap devices, as is amazon ware house
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
also kindles take pdfs natively as long as they aren't too big
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Oh yes, Amazon Warehouse, that's where I got my Audio-Technica headphones from.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Those were around £150 iirc.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
But I got it for around £75.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Later, after months of use, the ear pieces broke.
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
I bought my ThinkPad T470s from amazon warehouse for $200 roughly
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Nice.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Do you still use it to this day for daily tasks?
  • Badcatalex @ Badcatalex:
    yes lmao
I even forced Windows 11 onto it and it runs perfectly despit
e having only a puny dual core i5 from the 7th gen of the core series
    +1
