Hacking wii firmware question

Bought a black wii last week. Wished I'd known about softmod before I even opened it.
When I set it up I downloaded an update. Is there any chance my wii didn't ship with 4.3 and I updated to that?
If true can I get back to the original firmware.

No point in downgrading it. The only real point in not having 4.3 is that you must use Indiana Pwns or Smash Stack in order to get homebrew running. It's actually easier and safer to softmod 4.3 than it is to downgrade to 4.2.

Thanks for your reply. Spent a couple hours looking for Indiana to no avail. Guess I will go rent Smash.
