1. Everytime I try to install a wad file, I have to use anytitle deleter and remove ios249, install what I want and then re-install 249. Can any one tell me how to fix this?

Are you kidding me.?? you should be doing this, although according to your second question I guess your Problem is that you don't have waninkoko's cIOS36_r7 wich is the good one (for not saying the best)

Okay so if I understand you, this is the correct way to install wads, always remove 249 and then install again after the wads are installed...Right? By the way I modded the Wii according to DJ Taz guide and had waninkoko's cIOS36_r7 , but the rock band instruments would not work, so I researched and found that installing ios 37w/ios36rev7 would fix them so I installed it and then they did work, but stopped working when I installed wanninkoko's rev 8, so I went back.



2. I installed rev8 and rock band instruments stop working in back up game do I have to go back to ios37w/ ios36 rev 7 in order for instruments to work.

You can use Multi_cIOS installer to get IOS37 with DIP7 as IOS248 and then use the latest version of SoftChip pointed towards IOS248, and the Gamma Launcher will stay reading from IOS249..!!

So I can have leave the 0.3 gamma installed and install Softchip ( which if I am understanding correctly is another loader) and ios37 as ios248, right?


I appoligize for all the questions, but I have six children and I will admit, everytime I touch the Wii, I get a little nervous. I have read alot here and other sites and sometimes things get a little confusing as to which way to go. I will search for Multi_cios installer and SoftChip and try them, after I hear back from you, that I understand you correctly.

I think your problem is because you have cIOS37 instead of cIOS36 (c stands for custom), and on the second question yes you need this Multi_cIOS Installer to install the cIOS37 in the slot 248 (IOS248) and then use Softchip (wich is in fact another loader) and in the settings configure it to run from IOS248 to be able to run the RB games (just the first ones), don't worry to much doing this because:
1 if you are too scared you can (by mistake cause you're too nervous) missread or missunderstand something and then you will suffer the consecuences
2 You aren't doing anything too dangerous untill you mess around with IOS50 and lower slots, cause you can ruin the IOS suporting the entire SysMenu (kind of the OS in a PC)

A few recomendations:

Never delete an IOS (except for IOS249 and now IOS248) you can by mistake ruin your Wii completely
Try to get some info about how to downgrade/upgrade to 3.2 (in case you are not) and install preloader, it can save your life in case you do something wrong
Always read and search for info before doing something new, and ask about it to be 100% sure and confident of what you are about to do
Buy condoms, lots and lots (6 kids...?? iiiissshhh)

Yes, but some people say the 002fix version has some issues (nothing has happened to me so not really sure, more kind of a rumour), so it will be the best if you make it another folder in SD:/apps called.....dunno "002fix", and then put that .dol in there, remember rename it to boot.dol to get it to work..!!

Since someone thought it would be ok to delete the computability page for the gamme loader for no reason I thought I'd ask here. Does Metroid Prime 3 still have long load times at doors, and does No More Heroes still crash by the gym and have ridiculously long load times?

First of all error -1029 refers to you have an old cIOS. Use cIOS uninstaller to remove the old one. Then proceed using cios36 rev08 installer.

Remove Starfall (Remove all hacks) and install Preloader. Preloader is better, follow the preloader guide.

-feels like asking a REALLY noob question-

I got a softmodded pal wii 3.2E with backup launcher 0.3 gamma, and I need to apply the error 002 patch.

I'm quite noob but with patience I followed your guides and did everything good till now. I was about to fix the 002 thing using the zip file in the djtaz signature but it only contains a .txt file ._. so where am I supposed to get the files I need?

And I also was about to follow this guide which starts from zero, but from where should I need start following the guide since I have all the rest done and only need to fix the 002 error?

The Wii menu had Homebrew Channel,wiiloader 0.3,Gamma,V3.2u & IOS 249.But when i burn Madworld it show a blue screen with error #002.
I know there is this 002 fix but i'm not sure which one should i go to installed.I was been told not to update the software.

You need to use the Gamma 002fix launcher, just download it and put it in the apps folder of your SD inside of his own folder, like this:

SD:/apps/002fix/boot.dol

the .wad files I don't know wich ones you have, but you need Wad Manager 1.3 to install them and put the .wad files inside the wad folder in your SD like this:

SD:/wad/whatever.wad

unless those wads are channel with the gamma launcher 002 fix I don't think they can help you if you install them..!!

You need to use the Gamma 002fix launcher, just download it and put it in the apps folder of your SD inside of his own folder, like this:

You should have that folder already, otherwise nothing appear when you start the HBC (Homebrew Channel), in your PC open you SD, no need to format it, just open the apps folder, create a folder with 002fix name or whatever you want and put there the boot.dol of the Gamma 002fix Launcher, if you have GeckOS Channel installed maybe you have a ModChip, but still if it is outdated it will not have the 002fix in it, better use Gamma 002fix...!!!

Ok guys. This is a true cry for help. Ive looked for HOURS around the internet, this site, and many others, looking for a solution to my problem, to which I have yet to get a solid answer for. Im speaking of course..

about The Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition.

Here is my dilema. I made a backup copy, I installed all the newest cMIOS (v8), can launch the game from the disc channel, only to be greeted by a black screen when I choose any game from the list. Im sure this isnt news to you all, because it sure as hell isnt news to me. SOOOO many other people have this problem, and apparently (According to the compat list) can be solved by running the gamma, and choosing the rebooter. But WAIT!! I have Preloader installed, and from what ive gathered, it doesnt play nice with the gamecube backup launcher. I was getting code dump after code dump before I stumbled across that solution.

I come to you, with open arms, begging you. Help me find a solution. I just want to play Majoras Mask. If it launches just fine in the disc channel, but wont load a seleccted game, is there any type of button combination I need to be pressing when I launch it to help me ( I read about some sort of slow load by pressing start? Didnt work for me anyway....)? Is there any way I can get the gamma rebooter to play nice with preloader? Please help me gurus!!!

As ive mentioned, Im using cMIOS v8, on 3.2U firmware, even used the 002fix gamma launcher, thinking that would maybe help, which it obviously didnt.

Have you tried the rev 7 cIOS and the Gamma loader with the 002 fix to see if that worked ?
Im a bit out of the loop at this stage so im not even sure what changes were made in the 008 , but i know i didnt find any game with issues with the Rev7 and gamma 002 fix system.

the game just doesn't work for all, I have burned the PAL and NTSC version and both do the same, buy the retail copy for get it to work...!!!

I think the problem there, is that the only reported way to get it to work, is to use the rebooter, reboot it with hooks. When I do that,I get a code dump, because of preloader. so whether its rev7 or 8 of my cIOS, it will do the same.. I read somewhere else that simply uninstalling preloader will do the trick, but I dont want to uninstall the very thing that keeps my Wii from bricking. But idk, I really want to play Majoras mask....

I'm not really sure but I believe Majora's Mask is the only one that doesn't work on that game
