idk what the hell happened today. i have a softmod 3.2 and have been playing burned games for a while and all of a sudden none of my backup launchers will load. I'm not saying it won't load the game i'm saying when i load up the launcher itself i just get the launcher's background and a black screen in the middle. can't launch any games now.

the only thing i've installed is some wiiware games. come to think of it i deleted the ios38, 53, and 55 wads from my sd card cause i thought i didn't need them anymore since i installed them. now that it stopped working i put them back on and reinstalled them and rev8 installer. still not working.
lol - thats quite a lot that you uninstalled to be honest - i would get all the files you used to initially install the loaders like the Cios and all that , and start again from the start.sKeEt said:

anyway , since your not convincing me that you know what you have changed fully , just get all the files and re-install as per the install guides.
but they were only wad files why are they needed. i didn't uninstall them just removed them from my wad folder. didn't know it would make such a difference. figured all the files were installed and the wads were just for installation
so i tried the cios installer again but when it gets to the screen that says press a to start or turn off that's as far as it goes. i press a and nothing happens all i can do is turn off my wii. this is getting ridiculous

I've got a question regarding Gamecube Launcher and the broken saves.
I just upgraded from Theta to .2, and I just found out about the broken saves. For most of my burned games this isn't a big deal, but for 2 of them I made a lot of progress and would REALLY like to know if I can fix these saves.
So: Is there a guide (or something) to fixing the broken saves? I've heard that it's possible, but I can never find a guide. Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. My Wii is on firmware 3.3E, and after reading through an awful lot of tutorials and discussion, I decided to try installing Backup Launcher 0.3g (and, first, the cIOS that comes with it) on this firmware rather than downgrading first, since there were reports of it working. If it doesn't work, what are the signs exactly? As far as I can tell, the cIOS installer ran fine, and Backup Launcher runs fine and says something about IOS249 in the corner. Does this indicate that everything should be in the place for backups to work, or is it still possible that problems I'm having are caused by a need to have downgraded my firmware to 3.2 beforehand?

The game is Wii de Asobu Metroid Prime, which I patched to IOS249 as recommended in that huge discussion thread on the matter (and even if I hadn't, the disc should at least load before crashing). Load an original game with Gamma and you will see if your cIOS is working or not. DVD+Rs really don't work if you don't set the booktype to dvd-rom, so for most people it best just to use DVD-Rs. About the burning speed, maybe half the speed your burner is capable of is a good agreement between all the different opinions about it.
Yup - WiiPower is right (as usual) - sounds like it may have installed ok , but the issue is with the disc , or the image itself.
The first post mentions a little bit about DVDr discs and just covers the basics.
try the original first and see if that works using the loader , if it does then try a different image with a different disc type - i use memorex dvd-r and they work great on mine - verbatim -r are defo the most user friendly for a wii though
