Hacking Wii Disk Loaders Issues and Answers :

The game just loads in the disc channel, when I clicked start it goes to the 001# error.

Tried original American Idol on backup launcher, didn't work.

HP dvd. PAL iso patched with WBB. Burned on 4x with Nero.

3.2J currently. Downgraded from 3.4j.


ether: I have to use trucha signer to open the iso first? Because the Disaster: Day of Crisis iso cannot be opened with trucha signer. :S

And also, I thought about the extra things plugged in, and I forgot about the American Idol mic that was plugged in behind, so I plugged that out, reinstalled and it didn't work. I also then unplugged the wii-mote charger too. Removed ios249 and reinstalled everything, but still to no avail, tried autoboot channel and that didn't work either... black screen all the way. Could it be the HDMI cable that's affecting? Should I change it to the red, yellow and white one? Cos not sure that will make it work... sigh.

I have a 3.2e Wii system, with the cIOS rev7 installed and I'm using the Wiigator's Backup Launcher 0.3gamma.
I've downloaded Warioland: The Shake Dimension (PAL) and burned it into a Maxell DVD-R , with ImgBurn, in 2.4x. However, almost every time I start a new level, I get the error "The game disc could not be read". I've already googled and searched in the forum, but I can't find any useful help.

Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks in advance.

By downloaded i assume you mean backed up because downloading a game you dont own is illegal... that out of the way , lets continue,
Your issue is not the Gamma loader nor is it the cIOS - once it works at all , they are ruled out,

So we are left with a few things.

1. The discs - Try a different brand of disc - Verbatim DVD-R is whats recommended.
2. The ISO image - Try backing it up from a different ISO
3. The burner - Use someone elses burner in case the burner is your issue , or you could try faster speeds ... read the page 1 guide it says fastest speed.
4. The wii itself - The lens on the wii is very sensative and may not be able to read some parts of your iso - if you know anyone else with a wii , try the game on theirs to check this.

Fortunately, I solved the problem.

It seems like a burner problem after all.

I asked a friend of mine to burn the same ISO, with the same program (ImgBurner), same options (2,4x) and same DVD brand. It worked perfectly and I haven't had any type of issues yet. The only two things different between my PC and his are the OS (I have Vista, he has XP) and the driver, so I suppose the problem is this last one.

Also, I tried the defective Warioland backup in my friend's Wii and it occurred the same error ("The game disc could not be read"), therefore it isn't a lens problem.

I have a preloader issue, ok i had softmii 9.5 installed in my Wii and everything fine, and i selected that everytime i turn on my wii it boot preloader 0.27(cuz my RESET button doesnt work) But after I installed the Mios Patcher for the NGC Backup Loader (i installed Mios v0.4 with rungcbackups + Wii Backup Launcer) everytime i turn on my wii preloader doesn't appear anymore. I have tried every Mios Version (0.4, 0.5, 0.8) but nothing I even run Any Region Changer mod5 1.1b and installed a new, fresh 3.2U and installed softmii 1.0 but preloader does not appear. What i'm doing wrong? What i should do? Can someone help me?

Have u re-installed pre-loader ? Installing a fresh system wad deletes preloader as im sure some other installs may have done as well - just try re-installing it.

its probably because of how specific your problem is - no one else would have the same issue. Preloader works as well all know - so something you installed or did has caused it to not work , but its hard to figure out what exactly it is that you installed to cause that. You have listed out some things, but you may have missed the one thing you did thats causing the issue, and because of that its almost impossible to troubleshoot this unless u have a step by step guide to absolutely everything you installed and uninstalled, and even then it would be hard.

I used djtaz's guide to get Gamma Backup Launcher working on my 3.3U while back(worked perfect i might add). I now want to install the Softmii package since it lets you load backups from the disc channel, but do i need to uninstall anything or can I just start from the guide thats in the Softmii .rar file?

So, I've been doing backups for a while now. I have all the standard stuff installed: Preloader, CIOSCORP, 3.2U

All my discs work fine, using either the disc channel, or through a custom 0.3 backup loader channel.

However, I've noticed that the PAL games I have won't show up through the disc channel. I mean, the only two I know that are PAL are doing this. I don't know if any of my other ones are PAL or not, and no real way of checking (as far as I know?) The two games are RE4 and Call of Duty: World at War. These both play just fine through the backup loader channel, but they aren't recognized on the Disc Channel. The weird thing is that the lone NTSC-J game I have has no problem loading through the Disc Channel.

Is it just more likely that these are bad burns than anything else? I'm using Verbatims, burning at 2x speed. Thanks.

If they play ok then its not bad burns - Softmii has always had some region free issues that the gamma loader didnt have which is prob why they play fine in gamma loader but wont with softmii.

Its just something you will have to put up with im afraid , though i have seen some say that region issues have been overcome with some installs of softmii. Then again i have also seen people lock themselves out of everything because of CiosCORP installs.

If its only 2 games id either get the same region versions or be happy with them ones i had.

I'm trying to downgrade from 3.4U but I'm stuck when using the IOS Downgrader. It exits wit an error -116 when initializing network, but I know that it works because I've managed to install Homebrew Channel and Homebrew Browser and the both get connected.

I've tried to run the Backup Launcher using 07-cIOS249-v7_waninkokoFULL-nw7.wad (From the guide at http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showthread....730&page=3) but it won't launch my backups (DVD error 324) even though it prints IOS249 in the buttom. So is it my installation or my backups that doesn't work?

Any ideas, thanks?

error 324 is either the discs or the cios - If your unable to downgrade then ios16 isnt installed properly or cios_fix isnt installed properly
try removing ios249 with any title deleter and install cios_fix and try it again

go back a few steps and try them again and make sure they all install properly

I can't uninstall ios249. When I try AnyTitle Deleter it gives a lot of error when loading (-1017, -102) and when I try to remove ios249 it claims that it doesn't exist. I then tried the latest ciosUninstaller but it just went into black screen.

I was able to use Wii DVD Dumper v1.2 over network, does that mean that the ios249 is working?

Nope, it seems ios249 is corrupt - this is the part that runs the gamma loader - you need to uninstall this or re-install a proper version of cIOS36 rev7 (which ends up as ios249 on your wii) to get the gamma loader working properly.

- Shuld I try to remove IOS249 and run the guide again?

Ios249 is corrupt and needs to be removed and re-installed - its as simple as that really.
If you cant remove it you wont be able to re-install it even though it says done it hasnt overwritten it.
