Misc WiFi Woes

I can't figure it out. My laptop gets perfect wirless connectivity...but my DSLite has crap connectivity.
I have a 384Mbs connection, and have attempted connecting via two AP's: one 802.11b built into router, and an 802.11g AP. Both show the maximum number of connectivity bars.
I've also tried connecting with and without WEP. Same results.
Connection speed when using internet via computer is fine: Tested on two different sites, saying I sport a connection of 317-318Mbs. Downloads top at 40kBs.
As far as I know, the DS uses only 1-2 Mbs, which is only a few 8-16 KBs. Why then, do I always lag when playing online?

And another question: does wireless channel have anything to do with it?

Change the channel of the router.
That might work.

I've tried 1, 6, and 11.
