The first five people who respond with a valid Bitcoin address will receive 0.5 BTC apiece, currently valued at slightly under $4 per Bitcoin. See Bitcoincharts.com/markets to verify this.

I'm trusting the GBAtemp community to not abuse this, even if this is the EoF board. Consider it a random Christmas gift.

Also please allow at least 12 hours for funds to appear. Kinda tipsy right now ya see, dunno when I'll crash for the night >_>

Happy holidays!

That's the beauty of Bitcoin. Borderlines don't matter. Distance across the globe doesn't matter. I could send you a million dollars and it would take the same amount of time and effort and taxes as if I was sending you a few cents.

I joined into Bitcoin a year ago specifically to escape from the abuses that PayPal imposes on its so-called "customers" -- see the "PayPalSucks" website if you're unconvinced.

Sorry FireGrey, but the point of this thread is to promote a superior payment system. PayPal just doesn't fit the bill.

Yes, because downloading free software that takes up a fraction of your hard drive's free space isn't worth it. "Creating an account" is as simple as clicking a single button to generate an address, with no personally-identifiable information involved.

Your loss.

$2 is not worth using such an unsupported, cheap service.

what do you actually use bitcoins for anyway.

I'd always thought you'd just try and make money off selling/buying or you'd buy like underage porn or drugs or something.

FYI, there's this one warez site that uses bitcoins to let you have a higher download cap.

It's the closest digital equivalent to cash there is right now, with a few conveniences like instant confirmation of payment. You might as well ask "What do you use dollars for anyway?"

True, the market is still rather shallow, but there are legitimate services that accept it as payment.

Anyway, sorry for being a dick earlier. I blame the rum.
